no i dont have anything TO throw away...i downloaded the whole thing a month ago...and im not really speaking on the physicalities of ownership...just when i think tool, i will not bother to think of this album.
p.s. The Dude you didnt know maynards mom...why do you care? i think you're missing the point and MISSION of music...and that is to take it to reflect on yourself and apply it where neccessary...you should mourn someone you KNOW, not someone you never will...

i just got back yesterday from seeing them in philadelphia at the tower theater.
maynard was sick, the sound sucked, the setlist sucked, and my seat sucked, but i still enjoyed it.
jambi and right in two are amazing live. rosetta stoned isn't. 5/19/2006 7:58:03 PM |

I think the CD is pretty good. Obviously not Lateralus or AEnema, but in my opinion it almost seems like it was intended for a different purposed than the other CDs. Track 1 fits with the feel of the last two albums but the rest feels different to me. All in all, to me a sub par Tool album is better than almost anything else today. 5/19/2006 10:29:23 PM |

so fuckin what if i didnt know his mom, i know her story and i feel for her there's many people that I never personally met but i was affected by their death you don't have to know someone to be affected by his/her death especially in this case when the reason for judith maries death is similar to someone in my family i can mourn anyone and i can wish anyone to rest in peace

so i just read this on another board:
Quote : | ""If you burn both Viginti Tres followed by Wings for marie .. Then, play that track as one with 10,000 days as another track and play both at the same time, Both Wings for Marie AND 10,000 days sync ! It is incredible ! It is like an 8 piece band but it all FLOWS ! It flows like one song.. It is the most unique and incredible thing I have ever heard in my life.. BadA$$ ! The vocals, drums, the guitar riffs, everything flows ! Both songs get heavy at the same point at 9 minutes and 14 seconds in, it is magical ! This band synched tracks !
They synched them in testament to Maynard's mother passing to sound like an 8 piece band.. The vocals wisp back and forth almost like a conversation during the sync.. It's UNREAL !
Tool meant these tracks to synch.. If you look at the track times, "10,000 days" is 11 mins and 13 seconds long.. When you add the track times of "Viginti Tres" and "Wings for Marie" it adds up to 11:13 as well.. Look at the album cover ! There are 3 faces with one in the front.. This SICK band meant for all three tracks to play as one song for the self-title track "10,000 days" . Freaky !!
By the way, "Viginti Tres" means the number 23 in Latin . 23 is the number of synchronicity . And nothing is more synchronous than hearing the tracks mixed as I described .. Everything Tool writes is for a reason. These aren't merely interludes and fillers this band puts between songs. All their tracks have a meaning and there's a reason why they are there .. They are truly a one of a kind band like no other..." " |
heres a yousendit link with the songs already synced up. despite how incredibly gay this guy sounds from his post, im interested to see how it sounds. im downloading it now. BadA$$ !

At least this is an honest opinion from somebody who has good taste in music. You might not prefer their style/sound, but you realize they produce good music and they're great musicians. People that claim otherwise either know absolutely nothing about music, or love to be a contrarian.5/27/2006 12:38:07 PM |

They played w/o lights on them for almost the entire set. There was so much else going on onstage it didn't matter.
if you say the music of Lateralus bored you, you are a sucker. Musically, it is a masterpiece. The lyrics maybe not so much. 6/23/2006 9:06:36 AM |

I was at that show, it was in winston-salem. And he played with his back to the crowd until the last 2 songs or so. It was a great show though. And like someone said there is so much stuff going on that if you just watched them you would miss a lot. And they were mostly in the dark anyway. The only one I really have any desire to watch is Danny, I mean I know they can play their instruments, and watching someone play a tool song on guitar isn't really that exciting. Watching danny carey go apeshit on the drums his however. And they all just sort of stand in their place, with some occasional rocking back and forth. They are not the show so much as their music coupled with the visuals.

^I concur. I think the visuals at their shows are great, the only time I ever actually watch the band is when I watch Danny. He is just sick. I remember at the Lateralus tour him going completely apeshit on his kit, drumsticks would occasionally fly up into the air (guess he lost his grip), and he would pull another one out from between his legs without missing a note. Impressive. 6/23/2006 9:47:23 AM |
