i look forward to, and watch every comic book movie that comes out and i dont know how anyone can say that it wasn't better than spider-man 1,2, or X2

I found the characters more compelling in Spider-Man and X2. Watching Peter slowly discover his powers and work out his relationships with MJ, Aunt May, and Harry was great for me. I even prefer the action in Spider-Man (what little there was to be had). Similar case with the characters and action in X2. Tony Stark I found likable, but forgettable.

i say it's better than all the marvel movies and at least on par with batman begins

(probably better since bale's batman voice kicks me out of the movie every time)

The FIRST Punisher movies was the best. Dolph Lundgren, Louis Gossett Jr, and fucking Ninjas.

I've never understood the Spider-Man hype. I thought each movie was decent.
My top 5:

1. Superman II- Kneel before Zod
2. Batman-Jack Nicholson
3. Superman (Reeves)
4. Iron Man
5. tie: X-MEN/X-Men 2

Underrated: Darkman, Hellboy

saw this a couple of days ago, mostly because of the positive comments in this thread.

BY FAR the best Marvel comic movie. Unlike X-Men/Spider Man series, this wasn't all fucking cheesy dialogue and wasn't stuffed with uber-nerd inside jokes.

It was enjoyable as a real movie, not a comic adaptation. It stuck to the storyline of Iron Man VERY well, unlike every other damn movie, Xmen and Spiderman included, which took great liberties with the timelines and battles from the comics. Yes they encompassed 20 years of the comic book in a single movie. If anything it made the movie better as a result.

3.5/5

not the greatest movie ive seen. First and last 30minutes of the movie were great, but the middle just seemed to go nowhere with not plot development. It was pretty obvious that the old guy was the one who ordered to have sparks killed.

the X-men series to me was a complete waste, i wouldnt watch either one again

the guy who played wolverine was awful, and the story was wack, actually the first one was ok,

but the finale sucked

Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

Liked the movie just didn't like Terrence Howard. Everytime I see him I think of the scene in Crash when he's tearing up and about to lose it.

Through the entire movie I was waiting for him to start crying.

i'd agree that he was the weakest casting, but that might just be because everyone else was so money

[Edited on May 9, 2008 at 9:28 PM. Reason : woulda been better with a Delroy Lindo-like actor]

whenever he was like "this isn't the worst thing you caught me doing" im guessing she had caught him beating off

I thought it would have added to the film if they'd showed the scene where she caught him beating

My top 5 comic book movies:

5. Constantine
4. Mystery Men
3. Men in Black
2. V for Vendetta
1. The Rocketeer

But seriously,

5. 300 (Comparing movie stills to the graphic novel is pretty funny.)
4. X-Men 2 (Gotta love Nightcrawler. Still miss Gambit)
3. Spider-Man 2 (1 was okay, 3 was awkward.)
2. Iron Man (Great action and humor.)
1. Batman Begins (Batman done right for once.)

i'll always have the Chris Reeve Supermans 1&2 (cause it's pretty much one long movie) at my number one

those movie had a heart to them that i've never seen done in superhero movies since (save maybe some parts of the newer spider-man)

plus...i was a child when they came out, so i don't have the curse of being a modern jaded kid bloated off the overuse of cgi going for me

oh nostalgia you are so dangerous, i'll forever remember being in the theatre after a little league game watching tim burton's batman...batman begins could never replicate that feeling for me

[Edited on May 10, 2008 at 4:52 PM. Reason : (superman looks into the camera and flies off into space)]

i disagree 100%

i was very entertained through the entire movie. I <3 RDJ though and he is one of my favorite actors.

I was very pleased with this movie and thought it ranked right up there with Batman Begins. Not too

sure how i feel about that new hulk movie coming out but at least it doesnt look as bad as the first

attempt of the remake.

im super fucking excited about the Avenger Initiative (and the rest of the marvel movies in production)

Also, as far as comic book movies go:

1. Batman
2. Sin city
3. Iron man

And the whole climax of the movie could have been avoided if Tony Stark had password protected his screensaver.
