More Classics = great news.

No more Alternators = terrible news. Alternators were, in my opinion, the single best thing to happen to the toys since the original G1's. However, the lack of unique Decepticons was a big mistake.

I totally agree about a Leader-class Barricade. At least you don't see him die.

^ The "guy with Treads" (that I think turns into an Abrams tank or something like it) and the big jet were going to be part of a sort of 'large scale' series similar to alternators, but then when new alternators started to lose momentum the idea got thrown out.

The RiD Prime repaint isn't completely dead. The idea was thrown around as making it a club exclusive or Botcon exclusive - only that a leader class figure would have to be over $100 for it to be worth it to Hasbro to do the limited run of it. Apparently Takara HATES limited production runs.

^^^ Too many of the new figures coming out were shelf warmers, and not just because they were repaints - look at Skids.

They figured the momentum had gone away for the line. Its on 'indefinite hiatus', meaning if they get enough fresh, marketable ideas they'll bring it back, but for now don't expect any alts. at all after the SDCC Hot Rod.

I wonder if they'll have a special figure for release with the new movie DVD.

If they really wanted to milk figures out of the first movie (ahem....Final Battle Jazz), I think it'd be cool to have some toys based on the early concept designs and those that were cut from the film like Arcee and the early Ratchet design. They'll probably save Arcee for a sequel though.

Also, after kids a) love the first two seasons, b) get tired of it after that, then c) creative control gets exported back to Japan and d) we see crazy ass stuff that has, at the least, cool 'bot designs.

This current scenario of 'nothing new for months' reminds me of about halfway through the Cybertron line.

Then the new waves started coming faster than a thirteen year old with a penthouse tape.

I just hope the stuff in the middle (Voyager Megs, 08 'bee, Titanium Fallen/WW Megs/WW Magnus) don't become the next Cybertron Wing Saber.
