I played this game for two weeks thinking that my timing was off and that I sucked. I later got my guitar replaced which is slightly better but there are still problems. After reading this thread and others regarding this game, I think the bass drum pedal sucks out the box also.

How can any company release a rhythm based game with shitty peripherals that don't register in time and charge $160 for it?

Hey Rockstar006, I got a wireless Nyko Frontman for my PS2 but I wouldn't recommend it. Although it works perfectly fine (I've had it since about July), it is just too different from the Gibson that came with GH2 that it messes with me. The fret buttons are slightly further apart, take a different amount of force to push in all the way, and the strum bar just feels different. If you haven't played GH too much and you haven't gotten used to the Gibson, it's fine, but I would recommend waiting until the Kramer is released by itself early next year.

BTW, this is the one I'm talking about.

I have one and my bro has one. Works wonderfully...same size and spacing as the wired controller. Powers down when not in use so it saves batteries.

Yeah I think I'm gonna sell my Frontman to EB Games and buy one of those^ or just wait for the Kramer.

I got the beat Down absorbers last week. Noticeable improvement with the noise, and after long playing sessions, there is less stress on my arms from the pad recoil.

My sister just picked up the mic and sung for the first time. First song was Maps... 100% on Expert. I get like 80% on fucking MEDIUM.

So question: how does it handle guys singing songs that have a girl singing and girls singing songs that have a guy singing?

I just got my replacement guitar today too, works very well.

Strum bar is tight, and registers all strokes.

There are also like 10 little quality assurance stickers from the factory all over the back of it

edit: Also....you guys think my drums are fucked up? Whenever there are notes that require simultaneous hits I always seem to miss them. Seems like Im hitting them at the same time but I don't know what's going on.

Just fine. There's a difference between pitch and octave. (Someone correct me if I am completely wrong on this.) The game registers pitch, not octave, so a guy can be singing a song that is normally sung by a girl, at a much lower octave, but with the same pitch. Therefore there are no problems with hitting high notes.

geez, my guitar is fucked up, now my drums don't seem to be registering as quickly.

what's the deal with the manual calibration? i hear 2 loud clicks at the beginning and then they go away and i move the cursor around and never hear the clicks again.

My bass pedal broke in half...

Had to reinforce it with a church key and electrical tape.

did the staples mousepad mod

well, my girl did all the work....used compass, budweiser box for test circle, then cut the pads with scissors

works like a charm, about half the noise and the bullshit clackity clack is gone

I'm gonna have to add something to the strum bar so it makes a clicky sound like the old controllers. I'm so used to the feedback; the silence throws me off."

sooooo addicted

just got this today at like 6 and played till 2 am

one thing i notice, singing is actually pretty easy for me...drums are natural because i play anyways, but the bass pedal sticks and their bass patterns are terrible till you get to about hard...then expert is stupid...there are totally unwarranted runs

o well, im still loving it...have yet to really play the guitar, the drums are by far the best

and let your parents try it haha, my mom is a music teacher and was totally sucking it up but it was trippin me out, seeing others fail is great

10 years of music education, just shows that its not nearly as cool as a real set.

^Have you done singing on hard or expert? It is pretty easy on medium level, but once you get any higher than that you basically have to hit perfect pitch, especially on expert.

Bass pedal broke last night at the hinge. We have it duct taped back together as a temporary solution until the replacement gets here. It's pretty lame that they place a $125 charge on a card for any of the pieces whether it's the drum pads or the pedal.

brought rock band into work today for the office party and hooked it up to the new 40" sony lcd tv. i couldn't get it calibrated right. i tried lcd first, then plasma, all the others, manual, NOTHING.

i disconnected it and hooked it up to the big rear projection, set it on plasma, and it worked just fine.

wtf

How do you get your Rock band guitar to work with Guitar Hero games? I tried the Guitar Hero 3 demo on the market place but it didn't work at all.

^^ it has to be plugged in to a regular controller. you can't plug the headset into the drums or guitar and use it as a mic.

got this for PS2, but i regret it now; you can't create your own characters, and the tour mode is basically just playing from a list of songs. totally lame that they took out a bunch of features for the PS2.

with that said, it's damn awesome to rock out in a band. i can't wait to get a four-piece going.

i think i played for at least 8 hours today

and now my neck hurts from the way i was sitting i guess.

i don't think there is one, but i wish there was site that tracked how long you played specific games, like the gamerscore data sites and my360blog or whatever
