no way should we ever think about tying all that money up in someone like alexander when we have such needs in the secondary and at WR, OL, TE, DL 3/10/2008 7:10:55 AM |

FINALLY
Dwayne Jarret makes an impact
Quote : | "DWAYNE JARRETT ARRESTED FOR DWI
As a rookie, Panthers receiver Dwayne Jarrett was a bust. And now he's been busted.
According to the web site of the Mecklenburg County, North Carolina Sheriff's Office, Jarrett was arrested on Tuesday for driving while impaired.
Widely expected to be a first-rounder out of USC, Jarrett was a second-round pick of the Panthers in 2007. His arrival made Keyshawn Johnson expendable. " |

if the panthers claim to be placing OL as top priority in the offseason, then thye have got to be more than considering a big FA or draft move.... 3/11/2008 10:57:19 PM |

cutting hartwig actually increased the cap hit the panthers take....so why not just keep him around for depth? Dumb move imo. 3/12/2008 8:28:12 AM |

it costs us slightly against this years cap, but will help in the future, we are no where close to maxing out this years cap anyways, and it saves the panthers actual money even though it doest save vs the cap 3/12/2008 11:57:18 AM |

Unfortunately, both of our lines are in shambles at the moment. Unless we come up with some more free agents or another trade, don't expect us to draft any skill players in round 1 or 2. 3/13/2008 2:31:48 PM |

How are you sketched out about our RB's? Have you looked at our team as a whole?? RB seems to actually be a strength.
I'd be worried about our safeties, d tackles, d ends, QUARTERBACK, and the entire offensive line ... but that's just me. 3/13/2008 10:34:49 PM |

Are we sure Jake's coming back at full strength? I love Jake, and I know he's on course to recover, but the guy is barely throwing nerf footballs right now. My friend had Tommy John done, and said he realistically thought it would take Jake two years to recover.
I'm hoping he's back, but I'll believe when I see him suit up.

^^He was a pitcher in college, so he had trainers in place. Did he receive the type of treatment Jake is likely getting, of course not.
And Jake wasn't ever all-pro material, but he didn't suck balls either. I always feel we have a chance to win with him in the game, as he seems to inspire the offense to play with more energy. He fucks up, but he also makes plays-- something Carr and Vinny never did. 3/13/2008 10:54:56 PM |

Quote : | "PEPPERS IN DENVER Posted by Mike Florio on March 17, 2008, 10:31 a.m.
Spotted at Sunday night’s Denver Nuggets game was Panthers defensive end Julius Peppers.
The sighting created enough of a stir to prompt an item in the Rocky Mountain News regarding the possibility that Peppers could be traded to the Denver Broncos.
Peppers is entering the final year of his rookie contract, but with a high cap number. The Panthers are believed to be unwilling to extend the deal with a Freeney-esque pay day ($12 million per year and $30 million guaranteed), but the Panthers likewise deny that Peppers is on the block.
The Broncos have had an obsession of sorts with reclamation projects on the defensive line, but few of the gambles (Courtney Brown, Gerard Warren, Daryl Gardener) have panned out. " |

I wouldn't mind Brandon Marshall and Selvin Young but I also expect Peppers to have a good season since this is a contract year, and every other season except last season, he put up pretty good numbers, regardless of if he gave it his all every week 3/17/2008 12:24:01 PM |
