I wouldn't really say on purpose but going into the corner too fast caused it. He didn't have the power to outrun him on the front/backstretch.

I don't know how you can say Little E is the Danica Patrick. He has 7 top 10s this year. More top 10s than anyone else.

And Busch didn't do it on purpose but it was his fault.

i know dale sr. raced hard but there's no way he would have wrecked the hands-down favorite driver of nascar fans who hasn't won a race in 2 years rather than just finish 2nd. furthermore, kyle busch clearly had dale jr's number there and could have easily passed him for the win in another few turns. he instead chose to take him out unnecessarily, and that's what i have a problem with. dale jr. should have finished 2nd, not 15th.

and he did do it on purpose. any other driver in that situation would have come down and given him room and went on to make the pass on the next lap. busch intentionally gave dale no room, causing him to wreck. even tony stewart wouldn't have done that, and he races people hard all the time as well. i like tony stewart for that, but he is smart about it. kyle busch will wreck anybody out to finish one spot better than he would have otherwise.

Top 10 is the top 25%. That's all. Big deal, he's on the best team on the grid.

if it's not a big deal, then why is he the only one with that many top 10 finishes? clearly he must suck.

it's racing y'all. there is no right or wrong, only opinions and those don't matter because the only thing that does matter is who's in the wall and who will get put in the wall next week.

neither hendrick nor JGR won, so i was fairly happy with tonight's outcome.

I don't think it was on purpose, but I honestly don't think this crosses the mind of any driver when they're going for the win as well.

^ And notice the crowd cheered.

It's not the move that the fans are booing, it's that it was done to Junior. If Junior did the same thing to some other driver, say Jeff Gordon, the crowd would've cheered like there was no tomorrow.

This one happened after the checkered flag where Dale Sr. spun Eddie Cheever in the grass.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=6x3V5U701jw

In the pit area, Dale Sr. was coming toward Cheever with Cheever strapped in still (Cheever afterward said he thought Earnhardt was going to come deck him and he was trying to get unstrapped out of his car quickly so he could defend himself), but Dale came and gave Cheever a handshake and said, "now that's racing!"

^if i remember correctly, there were examples of earnhardt fans ripping their shirts off because of that move in bristol. I also saw a few middle fingers goin up in that video.

And then you gimme an example of IROC in which earnhardt didnt even wreck in?? come on

Earnhardt made a CAREER off of doing that! And that's why he was the most liked AND most hated driver for years. Notice the cheers in that video?

The IROC race just sticks out to me cause Earnhardt shook hands with Cheever after putting him in the grass after the checkered flag, it was a week before Earnhardt's death, and I obviously can't pick from any races from the last 7 years to pick from which are the ones usually on YouTube.

I reminded myself afterward that half the fans hated Earnhardt, and I was one of them. I'm just arguing that the other half of the crowd that loved Earnhardt, many of which migrated to his son after his death and are the only reason he is the #1 marketed driver in NASCAR despite his middling talent, would've cheered the move after Earnhardt Sr. had done it to win a race.

If these people were just upset cause it happened to Junior, I'd be perfectly fine with that. But they're not. I'm seeing on the SpeedTV forums calls for NASCAR to ban Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, and members of the Junior Nation calling for a boycott of M&M's.

Quote :
"Kyle Busch is an overly aggressive driver who takes excessive risks that put himself and his competitors at risk of crashing out, and potentially worse. The former happens all of the time, e.g. Richmond where KB went into the turn too hot, got loose, and used Jr. as a guardrail; the latter hasn't happened yet, thankfully, but stay tuned.

Kyle Busch delivers results, i.e. race wins. But should we applaud those results or the man? Absolutely not; not given the way he delivers those results, and given his arrogance and disdain for his competitors off the track.

Earnhardt Nation, and racing fans of all drivers, excepting of course the small flock of sadistic fans following KB, there is something we CAN DO, aside from venting on SpeedTV boards; We Should Boycot M&M;-Mars, Kyle Busch's corporate enablers! So, no more M&Ms;, no more Snickers bars, and no more Pedigree dog food! Spread the word!"

Reminds me of Ferrari F1 fans. Dale Earnhardt Jr. needs to call on his fanbase to stop being f***ing morons. They're very much the racefan versions of Carolina fans that think every single foul call against them is the refs out to get them, completely out of touch with reality, and is why I have little to no respect for them as a whole. Honestly, if Junior did that next week even to someone not named Kyle Busch, they'd be perfectly happy and fine with it and just say "that's racing".

(Let me clarify that I respected Earnhardt Sr. for his natural ability as a racecar driver and as a marketer, I just wanted to see him lose. Same with Jeff Gordon.)

middling talent, eh? He's one of, if not, the most consistent driver in nascar this year. he just needs to get over the hump and win a few races.

so tell me a little about it all. I want to experience wherever we can get in and out of. I also want to watch the whole race. I had a chance for pit passes and the intro thing but I thought we wouldn't want those tickets. DUMB move on my part. Still 8 free tickets is sweet.

I'll be there, and have been every year for the past ~4 years. If you want to get a real experience at Charlotte, the 600 is when you want to be there - ALL DAY! Honestly, all the All Star races I have been to seemed pretty low key as far as events and things to DO (like outside the gates). However.. there are real race fans there and you will get a true taste of being surrounded by HUGE fans - simply because its the All Stars. I LOVE the All Star race, especially since most of it is under the lights.

I have never had pit passes - I would just LOVE to do that sometime though. I've watched it from the infield, turn 1, 2, the front straightaway, and the start/finish line. I think my favorite seats were going into turn 1. Although, coming out of turn 2 is pretty sweet too. Start/finish line is good for the end of the race, imho. I want seats in coming out of turn 4 sometime too.

Duh Scrumples, who wouldn't wanna do Daytona over Charlotte? But he didn't ask about Daytona... he wants to know what to look for/expect from Charlotte.

You'll have a great time at Charlotte! The atmosphere and the track itself is one of the better tracks!

I've gone to Charlotte twice. Once for the Winston when Michael Waltrip won it and once two years ago for the All-Star race. I think myself and the three people I was with two years ago were the only people within 20 rows any direction in Turn 2.

So not much atmosphere when your place is only half-filled.

^^ It was really empty 2 years ago. I don't remember any bad weather being a factor. Last year, there were more people.

I totally forogt about the burnout competition and the pit crew challenge. I've never watched them, I always get there just in time to see the actual race. Maybe this year I'll get there to see that.

nah in my fantasy league you pick 2 a-listers, 4 b-listers, 2 c-listers, then after qualifying you pick 1 a, 2 b, 1 c...c-listers are shitty...i went with Marlin and Elliott...but here were my other choices:

1. Sterling Marlin
2. Ken Schrader
3. Brian Vickers
4. Travis Kvapil
5. David Reutimann
6. Paul Menard
7. Scott Riggs
8. A J Allmendinger *
9. Regan Smith
10. Michael Waltrip
11. Kyle Petty *
12. Sam Hornish Jr
13. Joe Nemechek *
14. Michael McDowell
15. Patrick Carpentier *
16. Bill Elliott *
17. John Andretti *

*'s mean you arent in the top 35 but there are only 45 drivers so they only have to beat 2

am i only one who thinks they should have "fixed" darlington? they could have added progressive banking to create side by side racing like we see at richmond and the new bristol. tradition is great and all but i think tonight is going to be as boring as pocono but with a bunch of cautions for guys slapping the wall too hard.
