Stone seemed like the kind that knew that fans had a right to bitch when the team isn't playing well, provided they hold up their end of the bargain by showing up and supporting the team. He's a blue collar guy from a blue collar state. 3/30/2009 7:03:04 PM |

^^^for all the shit marcus stone got as a QB, people LOVED him when he went to tight end. I know my feelings for the guy changed like night and day. I mean.....to switch from such a highly touted position as QB to such a lowly touted position as TE....and then to work your ass off at it to become a pretty darn good one........he earned alot of respect. 3/30/2009 7:53:40 PM |

^^ State won inspite of Stone because our Mario/Manny/McCargo defense was No. 1 in the country. Stone was an awful QB (but a damn good TE)

Nobody is hating on Stone because we don't have a reason to. It's not like with Beck who is both incompetent and moronic. Stone simply couldn't get the job done at qb. It's like ^^ said, we won in spite of Stone. Not because of him. Nobody is saying Evans was a lot better than Stone. They're just saying Stone wasn't a good qb.3/30/2009 9:10:49 PM |

Nice Braxton Allbritton-esque hair on this N&O blogger. But what exactly does this part mean anyways?
That they aren't getting it quick enough?
OR
That Tom O'Brien has extremely high expectations for his offensive linemen? That he's constantly telling them they aren't not good enough yet? That he's a disciplinarian who is pushing the hell out his first class of highly-touted red-shirted O linemen?4/1/2009 10:12:18 PM |

TOB is known for saying things to the media that is intended to motivate his players, b/c he knows that they will read it. Remember the part where he said he wants a competition for the QB spot and expects Glennon to try and take it from Wilson? Well most likely Wilson is the starter next year, but TOB doesn't want him to become complacent and think he's got it all wrapped up and that TOB won't yank him for Glennon. Now I expect Glennon to get some playing time next year, but Wilson will most definitely be the starter. TOB isn't the only on the staff that does this. Remember Archer calling out his defensive players last year and telling it to the media. He told them they were the laughing stock of the ACC and then proceeded to tell the media about it to make the players more mad and determined. 4/1/2009 10:38:03 PM |
