I agree with this. If you're cheating, you're having an open relationship. Just lying about it.

Fidelity is or isn't your thing. Whatever. No one cares. But cheating is a matter of holding the pretense of fidelity with one person who is reciprocating the commitment while hooking up with other people.

Really, cheating is only loosely connected to sexual preference. It's much more about enjoying the thrill of a lie and betraying people's trust in order to get more than what they would offer you otherwise.

I think it's more about just wanting to fuck someone else.

If I knew my girlfriend would never find out and that I would not feel guilty, I would "cheat" all the time. But I love her, don't want to hurt her, and I know I would feel like shit if I did it. But the desire to have sex with other women will probably always be there. You just have to decide if you can deal with the consequences and just hope you don't make any dumb mistakes.

I also try not to put myself in the position to cheat (aka, don't get drunk around attractive women that you know want to sleep with you). I'd like to think I can control myself, but the less opportunities for something to happen, the less probability that it will happen.

so, having kept up with the jason young murder trial we have had two cases of infidelity from married women and married guys ( jason young, and first girls husband).

I think this kind of behavior is now becoming the norm, even among the older crowd. Or it may have been the norm all along and because of recent technology (video/internet) it has shed more light on it.

If you are willing to reveal, have any of your parents cheated ?

I've never cheated with a gf... I've had open relationships before, and ended relationships because I wasn't looking to settle down, but I never cheated on someone I was actually in a real relationship with- I just know how much it sucks to have that happen and couldn't imagine putting someone I care about through that
