most of the one-liners were perfectly placed.

my favorite: "He's adopted"

"Regarding the powers or Captain america:
Remember this incarnation of the avengers is based on the Ultimate marvel universe. In the ultimate universe Cap's powers are way more than in the normal marvel universe. He is stronger faster and has better senses. I believe he even tangles with the Hulk successfully in the ultimates. Basically except for the X-mutants in the ultimate universe just about everyone's powers are related to the super soldier program somehow. That may be an exaggeration but is not too far off. If anything Cap was underpowered in his movie and the avengers."

Half and half. Cap and Fury are more like the ultimate versions but Thor, Hulk, and Iron Man are more like the normal versions.

With Ultimate Thor it's unknown as to whether he's really a god or a former homeless dude, and he talks and acts like a surfer hippie.

Not anything thought provoking but interesting still: http://geektyrant.com/news/2012/5/10/how-much-screen-time-did-each-of-the-avengers-get.html

Hawkeye 12:44
Thor 25:52
Hulk 28:03
Widow 33:35
Iron Man 37:01
Cap 37:42

I wonder what Nick Fury had in comparison.

^^ Didn't Whedon say that there's at least another half hour of footage which made it through post production, but will have to go onto the DVD due to time constraints?

i'd say it's pretty evenly split between Banner and Hulk, screen-time wise.

Saw it again today. Still A+. God i love this movie.

I'd like to own the entire "Avengers Movie Universe" movies on Blu-Ray. (except maybe the first hulk... does that one even count?)

Haven't seen the movie.

What role if any did Fury have, because he was very minimal in all of the other films?

Nick Fury is the director of SHIELD, so he's basically in charge.

No, doesn't count. 2008 hulk was a total reboot.

Very small role. He appeared in the background in several scenes, like a hologram, talking to and directing the Avengers on what steps to take. Maybe 2 minutes total screen time.

He's saying that the first one didn't count since 2008 was a reboot...pretty much eliminating the Eric Bana one. I think you misunderstood.

Partial sequel in reboot style. They wanted to negate the first movie but not retell the whole story. They wanted to severe ties from the first Hulk but let the "storyline" speak for itself if that makes any sense.

Saw this movie today. I thought it was pretty good. The theater was pretty packed for a 1:15 matinee almost a month since the movie has been out.

It was a little more light-humored than I thought it was going to be, but in a good way. I don't think it took away from the movie at all.

One question I have... toward the end, when Stark called up the Mark VII suit... what was so great about that in comparison to the Mark VI? I didn't see any noticeable difference, besides the circle on the chest instead of a triangle.

I thought it was hilarious when they showed the red guy after the credits and the group in the row behind me said, "OH SWEET HELLBOY! I LOVE THOSE MOVIES!"
and I'm pretty sure they were being serious

I'd say the way it was deployed as he jumped off the building and more weapons/upgrades.

i really enjoyed the movie

i'd say The Hulk made up the best and worst parts. Best b/c he stole scenes and had the best fights, but his abilities didnt make a ton of sense. First time he changes accidentally and is fighting the heroes, then he can control when he changes and he is nice to the heros (except for the punch).

very minor complaint though, A grade.

i guess its been discussed already
Quote :

Here's showing what sort of a nerd I am. lol

The majority of the Iron Man armors fell into two categories, they were either made with a specific chore in mind or his every day armor.

He would create specific armor for things like the Hulk armor, stealth armor, space and water armor.

His every day armor could do a lot of the above, but wasn't good at anything specific. With the Mark armors those improvements came in the way of how armor was put on, software improvements, material improvements, and general weapon upgrades. He would also ditch what didn't work with his particular fighting style or had unforeseen consequences. There would also be cosmetic changes, for instance one time the gold changed to silver or the circle to a triangle. Little things like that.

Hulkbuster armor

Stealth armor

Here's a version of the silver armor

Stark also gave Banner that pep talk that the Hulk was actually there to protect Banner... alluding to possibly protecting others/the world. I thought that was the starting point of the "controlled Hulk", but I agree, they didn't really cover any progression of Banner's control from there.

/didIjustcommentsrslyonacomicbookmovie?

I am not a comic book fanboy, but I did enjoy this movie. Will see it again on Blu-Ray

The previous ones:
Iron Man - First one was great, RDJ is just perfect. I already forget what happened in 2 or if I liked it.
Captain America - Didn't watch it because I knew I would hate it (seems like a boring Superhero to me)
Hulk movies - Saw both of them. I love Ed Norton, but both were just really boring. Did not like either.
Thor - Perfect for a TNT movie when nothing else is on. I liked it, but would not go out of my to watch it.

finally got around to seeing this and Brave last night. Both were decent, but definitely let downs... nothing particularly wrong with them but just nothing "OMG BEST MOVIE EVER". Brave was really short and when it was over I was like "that's it??" whereas The Avengers was long as shit for an action movie and I was like "there's more?? dammit"

Yeah, I guess I'm in that same category. The Avengers was just "ok" in my book. I think all the BEST MOVIE EVAR talk set my expectations too high.
