After the prologue, you start off with one guy, and on about the 3rd mission you meet up with the 2nd. I haven't played much past that so I only have 2 guys now.

The driving takes a bit of getting used to but it's better than IV by a long shot. If anything, I'd say they went on the other direction from IV where now these cars seem to turn on a dime at speed and don't feel as floaty. Still not super hard to get one squirrelly though, just kind of in smaller turns rather than the large on-ice type arcs in IV.

As far as bonuses go, it's pretty useless anyway. The blimp is still there in all versions, the code just puts the atomic logo on the side. Which like...ok. They could have at least given us an exclusive car, or weapon or outfit or something.

The Walmart where I got my copy at midnight was handing out gta keychains to the first few dozen people that bought a copy. I was out at 12:09 and I rode by Jimmy Johns to get a sub to eat during the install and there was still a massive line at the GameStop next door, and they didn't even get anything special with their copies. Somebody at Walmart said their line started at 8pm. I honestly don't understand how GameStop stays in business.

Driving is pretty tough, I ran through IV before this came out and the driving feels completely different.

I just did one mission and then went exploring, found some really cool stuff and barely even touched the whole map. One thing I really don't like is how I can be in the middle of nowhere, shoot two hikers and have the cops on me. That part is lame.

I played missions for like 2-3 hours and none took me out of the downtown area but I constantly felt like I was seeing new places. There is literally 80% of the map I haven't seen.

I like playing with Michael the most so far but haven't seen one character yet..

I think for driving you're meant to abuse the shit out of Franklin's special ability. I think I'm starting to get a handle on weaving through obstacles without it but it really does help.

Definitely went cruising in this random boat I boosted off the beach in the malibu looking area and rode around some cliffs for a while just enjoying the visuals. I run aground just to trash the boat and I try to hike up one of the trails to find out where I am, as soon as I get to the top of the hill i'm EATEN BY A MOUNTAIN LION THIS GAME IS AWESOME!

Played a little over an hour last night, really enjoying it so far. Not digging the music as much as I did with Vice City, but the hip-hop station is pretty solid.

Loving some of the dialog/story so far, pretty funny moments. Next up I might need to just explore the map some and slow down on the missions.

Couple more questions...

I know the map is wide open in the beginning. But how about weapons? Do you have to play through a certain number of missions before you gain access to ammo shops like in previous games?

How is the car spawn? In previous games you would drive a junker and only see junkers. Drive a sports car and more sports cars would spawn. Is it still that way or a lot more random?

Ammunation is open from the start, but I didn't initially have access to every single weapon. I think you can unlock more guns at the firing range by passing challenges? Haven't tried this yet.

The car spawns are great. Full range from junk to exotic.
