What is your overall impression of other LEOs?

Are there any "class" discrimination between Sherriffs, County Police, State Troopers, etc. For example in the military, it's been my experience there's sometimes resentment between officers and enlisted.

Why'd you join?

The Crown Victoria is electronically limited to 140 MPH

Not a ton of difference between Sheriff/Muni police work except that you might have to work the jail/court for a sheriff. State Troopers (at least here in NC) is not my cup of tea because its only traffic, traffic and more traffic.

I'm at my agency because of its size, and pay.

Have you ever lured a 20-something year old man over to your house under the premise of shooting a porno with some women.... but when the man arrives, there are no women, and you want the 20-something year old man to suck your cock... and when he refuses and runs out of your door, you shoot him? ever felt the desire to do this?

"PROVO, Utah — A Utah police officer fired for dropping his pants and flaunting a green Speedo during a "Princess and the Frog" skit at a school is getting his job back.

Cody Harris filed an appeal after he was dismissed from his position as a Provo school resource officer in May. The Provo Civil Service Commission decided Wednesday that Harris should be reinstated.

Provo police said in an email that the department still backs its initial decision to fire Harris, but it will honor the commission's decision.

Harris was dismissed after Provo police said he removed his pants to show off the Speedo-style suit and made inappropriate gestures and comments while a group of female students were nearby.

Harris will receive training to work in the patrol division."

Good thing this guy was removed from working in a school so he can now just drop his pants for the general public.

I'd like to get one of your opinions on this:

http://www.wfaa.com/news/local/Motorcyclist-says-dallas-crackdown-went-too-far-159671765.html

Raw footage here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyYlRZAdPGk&sns=fb

Just gonna throw it out there that this perfectly depicts why people are wary of the police. The officer clearly states that the reason he was pulled over was to take the camera. Then in a written statement after the fact, they say it was for an obstructed plate all along. The fact that the police would actually ARREST someone for that just because they had sand in their vagina makes it all the more aggravating.

And a further question that is semi-related. If someone gets arrested and then acquitted of all charges, do the police keep all of the information they took at the station (finger prints, etc.)? If so, that is fucked up.

When you're filling out tickets for traffic citations, does the computer have a drop down box for courthouse or do you type that in manually?

I got a ticket for expired registration (yea, I PMed you about it, kind of ) and just noticed that he put Ayden as the location of the court. lmao. There is no fucking court house in Ayden.

^^ That is probably not an error. It appears that Pitt County has a satellite district courtroom in Ayden on the second floor of town hall.

Its too hard to QB that video without knowing Texas case law and their laws.

First, I could almost see it; the guy has evidence of a crime on his camera and that camera can easily be erased and/or altered in the time it would take to lawfully obtain a warrant.

Second, the officer could have actually being pulling the rider over because of the plate frame. You are not required to tell the driver why you pulled them over or even tell them the truth. I.e. you watched them buy drugs but tell them they are being pulled over for a headlight out.

Third, arrest for the plate cover? That is a pretty chicken shit charge but its a way to arrest the driver and seize the bike (even search) and helmet.

Something like this has not really been tested in NC and I can tell you that my agencies lawyer would probably crap his pants if something like this happened.

Unless you get it expunged, yes. The officer still had probable cause to arrest you even if you are not found guilty. You were still lawfully arrested.

It def exists. nccourts.org lists a full district court docket for a session this week, so presumably they hold court there in regular intervals. Wake county has a similar setup in Wendell.

How would you go about detaining/handcuffing someone who could not wear handcuffs behind their back. I'm not talking about an amputee or anything, but for example, when I tore my labrum in my right shoulder, I could not move my hand behind my back without tearing it further and being in an immense amount of pain.

They'd handcuff you the same way they handcuff everyone else. The average popo isn't going to give a shit about your shoulder.

The screams of pain as your labrum tears are the sounds of just another whiny bitch who thinks they're too good for the law.

This or you don't hand cuff them. Really depends on the circumstance(s) - Did you just murder someone and try to run or did you fail to appear in court.

you can use two sets of cuffs if the person is wide and cant reach behind their back. I have also used leg irons as handcuffs before for this reason. Or you can cuff them to the front if they are acting sensible

Hypothetical situation:

I offer to give someone (Person A) a ride in my vehicle. For one reason or another, I pull over into a parking lot and ask the passenger to leave my vehicle and they refuse.

If safety and well-being of the occupants or myself are not at immediate risk, what are my options in removing Person A? To what degree am I lawfully allowed to remove Person A?

What are your favorite cop movies? Are you more of a Turner and Hooch fan, maybe Dirty Harry or Serpico?

Thanks!

You can remove them in a way that is reasonable (to include force if necessary).

Is it loud music?...turn it down so we don't have to come out again. While we don't have an Opeartion Clampdown, remember that while you think your party, music, etc isn't too loud, somebody thought it was a big enough quality of life issue.

How often can you get the 50% off your order at Chickfila while in uniform? Once per week? Once per day? I know they make you sign the receipt but not sure if they actually track it

The license plate frame law was a magnificent way to create another legal way to harass otherwise law abiding people.

1. If you're a LEO in NC and can't recognize a NC license plate, then you shouldn't be a LEO.
2. Law doesn't apply to out of state drivers, so the "can't recognize the plate's state name" excuse is moot.
3. Most, if not all frames, showed enough of the state name to read it well enough.

Lots of places will give you a fixed price or a free meal but I rarely eat out at work and never eat at a place based on their discount.

Because I have traveled to all 50 states and get regular updates on plate changes and new vanity styles from other states.
