Holy crap, this is one of the most face-palm partisan hack posts I've ever seen. Not even the biggest wingnuts of the right would possibly argue that gas prices were cheap because of confidence in the energy/oil market. That is ridiculous. So the economy crashed and that just happened to coincide with a marked rise in confidence in the oil market? You can't be serious, can you? Do you have ANY idea how consumer commodities work in conjunction with economic markets at all?

And yes, it was the worst recession since the Great Depression. The economy was hemorrhaging jobs long before Obama came in to office. I don't even think Romney is pushing the "is it better than when Obama took office" narrative anymore. They have moved on to the "is this what a recovery should look like" angle.
