Just saw that Ron the Ref firing... ya know, I was thinking that in-game promotions were really the problem at 'Canes games. I mean, a fake ref? A fuzzy hurricane? T-shirt toss? I mean, shit, I'm glad there is at least hockey on for some of the time, else I'd get tired of these promotions. Certainly the fan experience hasn't been impacted by that shit the team has put on the ice recently.

Is our farm system any good at all? Outside of Bellemore last year, there's no one in or from Charlotte that has long term NHL career written on them. I mean, the fucking "In The System" page on the Canes site is blank. Maybe Ryan Murphy?

I guess we will see what Ronnie Franchise and Bill Peters have up their sleeve, but I don't think I am investing a lot of emotion in this year. Or years to come.

I'm pretty sure they write a similar article every year about Staal getting a "fresh start" and how he's ready to get this team in the playoffs again. At some point, people start realizing it and tuning that shit out. I already have, and it seems like multiple others in here have as well. The rest will figure it out after another year or two of this shit I guess.

I don't know if anyone caught it, and I may have the team wrong, but we tried to trade Cam to Calgary for a 7th rd pick and they didn't take. I'm sure I'll be proven wrong, but I think Cam is done in Raleigh.
