^that's true...i was thinking about ACC seeding. but yeah, that's a possibility as well. in that case, it's best for us to stay ahead of them in the standings. even with their win over us, our resume is better IMO. they have some ugly losses.

I read somewhere that it would be unlikely 3 teams from the same conference would be taken for play-ins, because they want to avoid same-conference teams playing against each other early. But they may make an exception if the teams all deserve to be in.

So it could be NC State, Miami, and Syracuse all in the first round.

^^i might be misremembering but it seems like in the past couple years the first 4 have been 2 power conference teams and 2 mid-majors. i'm sure that's not a steadfast rule or anything though. and i might be wrong anyways

Since they expanded to four play-in games, it's been the four lowest rated conference champions playing to be 16 seeds and the four lowest rated at large teams playing each other in the pre-first round.

I refuse to call those four games the first round. That's implying that 60 teams get byes. And that's dumb.

I don't know if it's a rule, but I'm pretty sure that's how it's been done the last 4 years.

I'm amazed we're still considered a tournament team but Syracuse isn't. I think they'll win at least 2 of their next 3, but then they end the season playing Duke, Louisville, Pitt, @Notre Dame, @Duke, UVA, and against us in Raleigh. They won't get an invite in the end, but at least for right now they're doing well enough.

Miami seems to be pretty parallel with us this season. Lose a couple games they could/should have won (Green Bay, Eastern Kentucky, Providence), beat Duke, play close but lose against ND, and lose against the bottom of the conference.
