And still what was the point of purgatory? And then they blew it all up?
Damn them, damn them all to hell 6/6/2017 5:11:17 PM |

^I'm with you. That finale was bullshit.
The only people that seem happy with the finale were those primarily concerned with Kevin & Nora. Personally I cared very little about that part of the show. And longer the show went on the more I felt like Nora was a real bitch. 6/7/2017 8:49:47 AM |

It wasn't horrible, but they didn't answer or even address a whole bunch of stuff that they made a big deal out of themselves.
I said this all along, I would have been completely fine with this being a show that was just about life after the departure, and not be sci fi at all. Just how to people deal with this, etc. There's a lot of emotion in that which this show was really stellar at portraying.
But having Kevin kill himself, get buried, and come back to life, the whole freaking episode with his father doing the dancing, and plenty of other times they strayed from the above and made us go down these other paths as if they were going to address that stuff, and then they never did.
All in all, take all that stuff out, make it 2 seasons instead of 3, and it would have been a really great show. As it is, it's a bunch of added confusion for no reason really. 6/7/2017 9:10:10 AM |

Kevin journeying around the afterlife, including communicating with his father through the TV static, as well as the man at the karaoke bar (who we later see back in the "real world"), none of that shit gets the least bit of explanation. That's crap in my opinion.
Second season was definitely the best. 6/7/2017 10:04:35 AM |

Why are you guys assuming that Kevin actually traveled to the afterlife or purgatory or whatever. This could've just been part of his psychotic break. I think I saw in an interview with Lindelof that every time Kevin "died" the writers wanted to make it plausible that he didn't actually die. As in maybe the bullet just passed through Kevin and he just lost a lot of blood or when they drowned him maybe they didn't leave him under long enough to actually kill him. 6/7/2017 10:59:20 AM |

I think there were a lot of questions left unanswered as to Kevin's craziness, especially stuff with season 1. But I think in the end his story was about how he used his craziness as an escape from reality and to run away from his family, which in the end he gave up by nuking the whole damn thing. 6/7/2017 11:19:13 AM |

^^possible, but then that doesn't explain the guy at the karaoke bar. 6/7/2017 12:21:59 PM |

Didn't answer certain questions regarding Kevin's whole deal, but that last scene was pretty awesome just to watch Coon & Theroux. Wish they'd focused more on other characters, but I still really enjoyed the finale. Also feel like Season 2 was by far the best season. 6/7/2017 4:02:07 PM |

^questions about whether Kevin actually died
Yes, many of the instances can be explained away
The one where he drinks poison, gets buried, and then crawls out...not as much 6/7/2017 4:41:58 PM |

We need to build a machine and all the cool people can go. Then when that world starts to suck we can build another machine. That solves so many problems. 6/9/2017 12:15:20 AM |

I just read the summaries for the second half of the season. Glad I bailed - shit sounds really stupid. The show had so much promise in season 1 and especially season 2 but just lost me in season 3. 6/9/2017 10:55:01 AM |

I'm way behind but in ep 4 of this season Kevin says "Lori" really aggressively and it sounded like how Rick would say it on Walking Dead and it made me angry anyway thats all goodbye 6/26/2017 9:42:58 PM |

Is this worth watching or nah? I'm currently halfway through season 1. I heard season 2 and 3 were great and season 1 is a bit of a slog.
Girlfriend and I got HBO for thrones and we're making my way through their backlog of TV shows. Finished Westworld, Veep, Thrones, and Insecure. We started but fell off on watching The Wire, Curb, and Silicon Valley (I'll probably finish those on my own time). 10/11/2017 4:00:54 PM |

^Yes it is worth watching. Just know going into it that by the end, not all of your questions will be answered. 10/11/2017 4:07:21 PM |

You better fucking finish The Wire. And I liked Leftovers...but it's definitely not for everyone.
Also try and check out Boardwalk Empire if you haven't seen that one. 10/11/2017 10:12:43 PM |

I thought season one was the best of the three personally. Great show but not for everyone, only three seasons though so it’s not a major time commitment like some others. 10/12/2017 10:49:15 AM |

Yeah I think we're in for the rest of the show. Watched the episode in season 1 where they flashback and show things leading up to the "departure day". Good stuff. Really enjoy the music too. 10/12/2017 12:59:35 PM |

I still love this show. Travesty it got no attention at the Emmys. The Handmaid's Tale is inferior in every way except for when it comes to pointing a finger at current social issues. Looking forward to Lindelof's Watchmen adaptation.
Do any women like David Simon? I've watched The Wire, Show Me A Hero and The Deuce on my own. His aesthetic seems geared towards men. 10/12/2017 2:01:15 PM |
