anybody played this or any of the Bully games? I never had the right consoles to play the older ones but they always looked kinda cool since they were made by Rockstar and they have some good titles in their portfolio

just got bully. if you like any of the recent GTAs you'll probably like it. pretty entertaining and seems to be plenty of random shit to do. i'm glad they ported to the 360.. i was jealous of the ps2 having the game.

MLB 2K8 has a game-killer framerate issue. The demo is awesome, but the framerate on the actual game is messed up.

So, for those of you who have Frontlines, is the full version better than the demo as far as framerate? I tried the demo last night, and damn if it wasn't problematic. I'd go to shoot somebody, and they'd flat out disappear and reappear in another spot entirely. I know this can mostly be attributed to lag, but if it happens consistently, then this is the kind of thing which would completely turn me off to a game.

it isnt perfect in 50 person games, but it is 100x better than it was in the demo. it had connection issues as well, but they seem to have fixed it somewhat in last couple days.

So I thought I'd pull out Halo 3 and give it a try last night. After having played CoD4 for so long, the only thing I can say about my Halo experience is that it sucked. It's just not even fun any more. I'm afraid CoD4 has really spoiled me. Infinity Ward needs to hurry up and put some new content out there!

just varied styles of games. halo style forces you to be more well rounded and resourceful while cod4 and the like allow for specialization. i think i prefer the halo style unless it is a class based games. keeps the action more varied.

it was a little bit short, but the disappointing part was how bad everything else was, when you try to duck for cover, half the time you'll jump up onto whatever you're trying to hide behind, it is almost impossible to aim at someone close to you, supposedly you can do melee attacks when you are close to someone by pressing the fire button, but it that only seemed to work about 10% of the time, it needs a button of its own, and the co op stuff that it is supposed to be so focused on is mainly just needing 2 people to open doors.

they fixed the connection issues in frontline and the lag is minimal now. ppl should get it so i have someone to play with on my squad. its pretty dope once you play it for a bit.

^^ I'm gonna pick it up, most likely. I'm trying to find a used copy. I spent some time yesterday in the demo just learning all about all the controls and vehicles. The helicopters are so much fun to use, even though they do seem a little on the slow side. I haven't gotten to try a jet yet, but I'm all about air-to-ground support.

I've addressed these issues in the army of two thread. There is no reason you should be confused with ducking behind cover because your duck button is not the same button as vaulting over. You are just playing it wrong.

Vault button is YELLOW

HOWEVER

YELLOW is also "slide into cover", so I understand the confusion...but you get the hang of it pretty damn quickly

I now have all masks, all guns, all pimped out...now i'm adding the grenade launchers to all my ARs...fun game...I just kept playing the beginning of China where you blow up the bridge then take the hovercraft to the dock, then you get $30,000, rinse, repeat

Well, after playing Frontlines for about 3 days, I can safely say that it is frustrating. It is a game which is chock full of fun ideas, but is also chock full of really sketchy implementation. I absolutely love flying the helicopters, but that's about the only thing which works as well as I'd like. The framerate seems really off to me, and infantry combat doesn't feel very fluid. The "jobs" (not loadouts) are extremely fun - especially Drone Tech - but since they don't persist, they can also be highly annoying to have to level up each round. I will say that it's hilarious to drive a little RC car laden with C4 under a tank and then blow that tank into ashes. I can't help but feel like the super polish on COD4 has set the bar so high that other online combat games pale by comparison. I just don't know what to do with Frontlines now. KAOS seems to be taking note of all of the complaints on the forums, but I don't know how much of the game can be improved at this stage.

yeah i havent been dying to play it hte last few days, mostly because of the lack of mic support on teams. in ranked matches you more often get in squads, but it still isnt perfect.

i definitely agree that vehicular combat is a lot more polished than infantry combat. so vehicle vs vehicle and person vs vehicle is fine, but person vs person is off. sniping works fine but most of the machine guns feel similar and inconsistant (grenades are relatively worthless most times).

because of all that, the large battles are really fun with vehicles flying everywhere and rockets going off constantly. thankfully you dont just get sniped constantly if not driving and you can actually get away if you need to behind the copious debris.

still, the lack of mic support and too occassional spawn camping really hurt the game overall. probably just gonna end up playing smash mostly for now.
