^^ that actually looked even more destructive than it did on the tv show. Those flames shooting out of oft opening were huge and didn't seem to be dying down. On the show, there was an explosion (after the guys inside had time to get out), and I don't think it was quite that big and it pretty much died down immediately.
Not only was it not that far fetched (having seen this), but it was kind of tame compared to the real thing. 12/5/2013 5:39:05 PM |

I bet Michonne ends up having Judith, after her little crying scene with Judith earlier in the season I could see her scooping the baby up (and having blood on her hands from the battle)
Also I read the other day that one of the writers alluded to them doing some Lost-esque, pre-apocalypse flashbacks (as someone predicted earlier in this thread). 12/14/2013 6:53:08 AM |

Carl is annoying, but he plays his role pretty perfect. Having a son, I see many similar traits in him that Carl displays. Of course it is exaggerated in the show. I enjoy disliking Carl. It fit's the show pretty good.

I was surprised they dedicated an entire episode to this, but they did a good job recreating it for the most part from the comics.
Carl in the show = much more of a badass than the character in the comics, too bad the actor gets in the way of what they're trying to do.
And for those that read the comics, hope I wasn't the only one that got pumped when they finally gave Rick his hatchet/axe. 2/10/2014 8:10:09 AM |

How old is he supposed to be? Mid-teens? That would explain why he is so angsty, right? Most of us have forgotten what it is like being a teenager but my sister was just as much of a little shit a few years ago when she was in her mid teens.
Also, that biker bar and neighborhood is within walking distance of the prison (injured Rick walking distance at that) yet they hadn't already raided it for food/supplies months ago when they were living in the prison without threat from the Governor?
Speaking of injured Rick, wtf happened to him? All I really remember was the Governor roughing him up a bit, did he get shot too or something? 2/10/2014 9:13:09 AM |

why'd they have to tease me like this. i was so sure for several different moments there carl was gonna get bit. It would have been a great way to restart the season. 2/10/2014 9:39:25 AM |

^^the governor almost beat him to death and would have strangled him if michonne didn't stick a sword through him.
I thought it was good but kinda boring. And Carl is still annoying. And he is very pigeon-toed and looks very nonathletic when he walks. I'm sure there's some sort of explanation, but why did they think it would be a good idea to get a bunch of british and irish actors to play southern americans? I think that's one reason Rick's (and the Governor's) acting are so bad sometimes, his accent can be very unconvincing. I did like the Michonne flashback.
and i still like the show, but at this point, when they hinted at killing carl or rick dying, i really didn't care.

Rick got shot in the leg too during the Gov's attack on the prison. As he was scrambling for cover behind the bus, a bullet got him in the leg. So that in conjunction with getting the ever-living crap beat out of him is why he's in the condition we saw him in. 2/10/2014 10:25:04 AM |

The only plausible reason I can think of is that it may have been swarmed by zombie hordes during attempted raids.2/10/2014 10:44:29 AM |

Apparently the neighborhood was in walking distance as well, and they hadn't raided that either and got the puddin'.
when carl told rick he ate 120 ounces of pudding, i was hoping rick was going say something like "wow korhl, your shits must be terrible, make sure you go outside"

Well they weren't having to go on a ton of raiding missions when they were in the prison, think mainly Michonne was just out scavenging for things. They had the prison food which they used up more than likely but also had the farm going, so I imagine they only had to make supply runs every week or two.
Carl is suppose to be younger, the comics didn't take months off between filming seasons, so Carl should still be a young kid at this point(not sure exact age but think <14-15. Carl in the comics does have a similar rant as the one he had in the show, but he doesn't come off as cry-baby/angst-filled as the show depiction.
Glad they finally showed the pieces of the Michonne's back-story puzzle, also glad to see Hardison from Leverage getting some work haha. Also glad they're finally starting to show just how mentally off/crazy Michonne is. Really liked that part of the bond between Rick/Michonne in the comics when they both realized the other was a bit crazy too(Rick talking into the phone, Michonne talking to "imaginary" people from her past).
Rick passing out in the comics had more to do with him fighting infection from his wounds, show just made it look like he passed out from exhaustion. Still think this show just uses the whole "a main character is going to die in the next couple of episodes" ploy too much. 2/10/2014 11:24:21 AM |

Also, I'll be disappointed if they kill Carl off this season. Really liked the part he plays later in the comics in a few key moments, but the show doesn't seem to care about replacing characters for various roles from the comics, haha. 2/10/2014 11:25:35 AM |

We don't really know how long Rick was out for. In the comics it was at least 2-3 days he was in his little coma after taking the antibiotics. So he might have just ate nothing but chocolate pudding for multiple days.
But needless to say his stomach would be straight wrecked. 2/10/2014 2:55:24 PM |

There's no real need to end a season (or mid-season) finale with the death of a character. If the story is strong enough, the anticipation of something new will be enough to draw people back.
I assume they are going to end this season with the radio intercepts from Washington? I haven't read the comics but I've read a synopsis. And that is really too broad a statement to be a spoiler. 2/10/2014 3:00:57 PM |

All that wheezing makes me think he might have a small puncture in one of his lungs, probably from the fractured ribs it appears he is suffering from.
Overall I thought that episode was extremely boring, and there was too much time spent showing Carl to be a f*cking idiot. Also why doesn't he have the sense to obtain a long pointy object with which to stab walkers in the head. He's wasting bullets left and right.

I seriously question how many times it needs to be brought up in this thread but KEEP THE FUCKING COMIC SPOILERS TO THE COMIC THREAD. I read the first two volumes of the comics before the series caught up to them and it was really easy for me to just A) Not talk about it in this thread or B) Wait for it to happen in the show before talking about it in this thread. 2/10/2014 3:35:50 PM |
