^Haha. Yeah once I thought about it, I figured for suburbs and stuff it probably was a thing. I grew up in the middle of nowhere so we didn't have that service and I just never really thought about it. We didn't have recycling service or anything like that come by either.

We put garbage, recycling, and yard "shit" out all on Monday. They pick up garbage and recycling on Monday (recycling every other Monday) and if they see you have leaves and compost bags out, they'll make a note of it and pick it up on Tuesday.

Back to stupid IC shit. I like they thread about us playing their schedule and not making it to a bowl. They do know we played all of the ranked ACC teams, correct? They missed FSU, Clemson, and Louisville. We might have lost to ECU, but we'd probably also have an extra ACC win or two.

Don't most cities have a restriction stating that debris is supposed to be behind the curb and not in the road? I know that nobody follows that but the guy is complaining about the mail lady driving through leaves that aren't supposed to be on the road anyway. An extension of thinking that UNC never does anything wrong?

^^Yeah it's not like they played a juggernaut of a schedule.

UNC would probably go, like us, 4-0 against our OOC schedule. Althought Ga. Southern's offense could have had a field day on UNC's D.

I'd say we go, like UNC, 2-2 against their OOC schedule. Losing to ECU and ND.

I actually see our record being almost identical to UNC's if we played their schedule. They beat GT and lost to VT. Obviously we lost to GT, but I think we could beat VT. Games like Pitt at home and @Duke could be toss ups for us, and maybe we'd go 1-1 in those games. And then...ya know we beat UNC so I guess keep that result the same. Making our record 7-5. Or even we just went 1-2 vs Pitt, VT, @Duke instead of 2-1, we'd still be 6-6. Just like them.

UNC would have definitely lost to FSU, @Clemson, BC, and @Louisville. They did beat GT. And they'd beat Cuse and Wake. And still lose to us. So...7-5 for them with our schedule. Seriously, who do they think they'd beat that we didn't beat? GT is the only one, since they actually did beat GT.

It's a dumb argument because they clearly play in the weaker division. And they did have a tougher OOC schedule...but each team makes their own OOC schedule. So that's kinda their own fault.

A bowl game in Detroit couldn't have happened to a more deserving fanbase...

Quote :
"I understand the inconvenience that FACTS provide for the Tar Pit Bit*h Team, but we were picked ahead of MooU....QuiK Lane picked ahead of Bitcoin. Bottom line, we had 3 wins better than any MooU had other than their win over us, and our schedule strength in the top quartile, while Moo's was in the bottom half of all of college football. I'm as pissed as anyone we played like crap vs them, but our overall body of work was better. They scheduled themselves to bowl eligibility, and they and everyone else knows that. No matter how disappointed anyone was over our season (and 7-5, 8-4 was about the top side for us this year, I thought going in, given the preseason personnel losses on an already thin DLine....not to mention the young, rebuilt OL), NO ONE can honestly say we that we took a chickensh*t way to getting bowl eligible, by simply SCHEDULING it. MooU did just that, much like they do OOC in hoops every year. Chickensh*t move by a bottom feeder school full of bottom feeder redneck fans.

I hope UCF KILLS them. I like our matchup in terms of winning the game, though I would've preferred Md. If we were gonna play a B1G team."

It will be just like a home game for UNC though....

Playing in front of all those empty seats.

I mean neither of us were good in football this year and we were both rewarded by being sent to shit bowls. The difference is none of our fans expected anything more and just like every year they expected to be division champs and just like every year they failed. Enjoy Detroit fuckers.

Also, I don't even think he's right about which bowl picks first. I was under the impression that each bowl in its tier kinda work together to get who they want. But I could be way off on that.

But you can't go 6-6, lose to us, and then complain about what bowl you got. Just like we, at 3-5 in the ACC, can't complain too much either

Every SOS ranking I have seen has them around 20 and us around 24... unless that idiot is referring to just the non-conference slate.

Why in the shit would we stack the deck against ourselves, knowing that we have FSU, Clemson, GT, etc on our schedule? I would much rather be heading to a bowl right now than 'be proud of our tough scheduling'

Gott absolutely is great at scheduling good ooc games, but this year, the schedule has not been quite as tough as prior years. It's a little closer to the cupcake schedule than Gott's norm (but clearly, is not a true cupcake schedule).

As for our football ooc schedule, I think this is spot on:

HAHAHA, I love that post from IC, sound like a bunch of butt hurt sore losers. This is coming from the shitty program who let ECU average 62.5 points on and totaled exactly 125 points on them their last two meetings. I wish they would play ECU again so that this time they can score 100 points on them.

Uh, our OOC schedule has @Purdue, West Virginia in NY, Cincy, LaTech, Richmond and Tennessee. That's not a cupcake schedule. We probably should have more than one road game but that's the only issue with it. We don't game the RPI like the MWC or MVC. Gaming the RPI would be scheduling only teams like Boise, Charleston Southern and Hofstra as our entire OOC schedule. We don't do that. We just don't schedule like retards (Greenberg/Sendek/Brey). UNC doesn't either - they do typically replace a couple of those middling P5 schools with actual powers, but that's because those are peer match ups for them whereas Cincy/WV/Tenn are peer match ups for us.

I think that's very true, but there is a conception about this year's schedule that it's not quite as difficult as previous years'. I think it's still exactly what it needs to be, but the IC poster above is not the only person to say Gott eased up on the difficulty a bit.

It makes sense to ease up in the OOC schedule given the murderer's row of an ACC schedule we'll be subjected too. The years we scheduled tough opponents were down years in the ACC.

Our OOC FB schedule was awful this year, but it was necessary when you're trying to rebuild a program and you're not going be a very good team anyway. Why pull a Virginia and schedule teams like UCLA & BYU when you're sitting at home all December? There's no upside to it unless you're trying to move up the rankings.

I'd obviously like our schedule to get better as our team improves, but it was a necessary move to have this weak OOC schedule this year. Our shitty schedule this year (especially in light of having to play FSU, Clemson & Louisville in conference) helped us to get a bowl in Doeren's 2nd year. It was a smart move.

^ exactly.

This is year 2 in a new system. We played something like the 2nd most true freshmen of any FBS program in the country (or something close, I'm going off the top of my head here), and our veterans who played in TOB's pro-style offense might as well have been freshmen last year with the drastically different offense we run.

An easy OOC schedule meant we were 2 conference wins away from bowl eligibility, which meant 20 extra practices to get guys more reps. While the bitcoin bowl isn't what anyone wanted, having a bowl in florida is always good for recruiting, or so the experts claim.

This bowl is perfectly fine considering where we were at last year. It only became disappointing because we got our hopes up on the Belk bowl and a name SEC opponent. As long as we don't lay an egg and get wrecked by UCF, this season will have been a success.

^^It definitely sounds better than Meineke Car Care Bowl or Continental Tire Bowl, thats for sure. It also used to be played during the day (started at 11am in 2005), but has been at night the past few years, giving it a better big game atmosphere. Obviously having an ACC/SEC matchup helps a lot as well...basically taking the Peach Bowls place in that regard.
Although Im not sure when we would have been disappointed to be in it; in 2005, we were 2-4 at one point in the season, so going to any bowl was exciting. In 2011 maybe, but no one was picked ahead of us that didnt deserve to be there.

I was excited for the Belk Bowl in 2011 because we'd just lost Russell & Nate and closed the season pretty well (had wins over a top 10 Clemson team and a shut out of UNC). It looked like we were going to have a good, senior heavy team in 2012, then 2012 actually happened.

Similar type of thing this year with ending the season on a relative high note and going into next year with a team that should have the potential to improve on this year's win total.

It's a great feeling to see our program gaining momentum while watching the turds in free fall mode.

I can't find the comments at the moment, but Switzer eluded to there being a huge divide in the locker room between older and younger players after the game yesterday. They're decaying from the inside out.

Sounds a little like the stuff we heard toward the end of the year last year at State...some of the upper classmen just not buying in or whatever. Which is somewhat understandable in a coach's first year. But really odd, IMO, to hear that out of players in their 3rd year under a coach.

Switzer is a pussy too. He'll do anything to avoid contact.

Yesterday he had a first down at one point and actually ran backwards so he could get out of bounds losing the first down yardage while doing so. That should be unacceptable on any team.

I noticed that too. He loses so much by actually jumping backwards out of bounds rather than just going straight out. I wonder if they point that out on film. Or if they watch film. Or if they know how to use a dvd player.
