have you guys gone to get measured (by like someone in the store?). i don't know if it is the cup size (i doubt it) or just the band size (probably the issue). but i just don't know.

ugh, being a girl!

vs has a measuring service. wherever you go, if you try on a bra and it still doesnt feel right after being measured, get another person to measure you, in another store if necessary. make sure you are adjusting the shoulder straps as well, cant count how many times ive seen someone forget to do that when they try on a bra.

Bra shopping sucks. sometimes I'm a 32a, sometimes a 32b. And sometimes the 32 band is too big but no one sells 30s, so I just find ones that run small.

Nerdchick went to a shop in CV today that has ALL clearance clothes for $25 for the weekend. I'll try and take pictures. She got a STUNNING white dress for $25, that was $134 original and 70-80 clearance price. It's there next to SoHo, I think.

They had a good number of miscellaneous pants, including some really size 10 seersucker pants she ended up not getting, as well as some cute pink 50s dresses (she did get one of those).

who has bathing suits from victorias secret? I'm about to order one and had a large bottom in my shopping cart which is what I usually get from target. Before I confirmed I decided to measure myself and I measured for a small which I was so surprised about so now I'm wondering what size I should order. My roommate said I should just get the same size as I wear in VS panties which is a small. What should I do!

Get the same size as the panties, but if those are close to being small, go a size up. I just ordered a swimsuit from there, and I LOVE it. I wear a 00 to a 0 in most stores, and I got the small bottoms (just like I do in the panties) and they fit perfectly. The top I got was actually the usual bra size I wear, but it was actually a little snug.

I bought a medium in the bottoms as well on the VS bathing suits.

I HATE THEM, btw. I have a larger chest and they just don't help me out at all in the support category. The large I feel too droopy and the medium just looks too tight. Ugh. I will never buy one again.

So ladies, what multi vitamin brand do you use? I take One-A-Day and supposedly it's crap. Any recommendations?

I also take a fish oil tab, anything else I should add? I drink a TON of skim milk so I'm not sure if I need the calcium.

VS clothing runs about a size larger than most other brands. A zero for Lucky jeans, ann taylor, white house black market, and american eagle would be a size two with VS.

^Yep. I wear a 00 in White House Black Market, Banana Republic, and JCrew. I can't ever find a good size any more in Ann Taylor Loft. I wear a 0 at Express, Old Navy, Kohl's and Victoria's Secret and just about everywhere else.

I wore a size 2 in high school just about everywhere, and haven't gotten any smaller, so I really wish stores would stay consistent in their sizing. The bad thing is, I wear a 00 or 0 and I'm not freakishly small. There's no reason a person with my measurements should be getting the smallest size in the store, because I KNOW there are women smaller than me.

I agree! There is no reason why I should be in a zero. Vanity-sizing is ridiculous. And most of my friends are smaller than me. They can't shop at most stores AND they have to shop in the kids department fairly often.

Ann Taylor is VERY inconsistent. The Gap is the worst though. Their sizing is so bad.

Gap and Old Navy have long been known for their poor quality control, which is one of the factors with the sizing inconsistencies (obv compounded by vanity sizing)

You can try on three different pairs of jeans of the same style, and they'll often fit three different ways.

banana republic (same company i guess) is horrible with vanity sizing too.

XS and 0 are usually too big for me there. i have some things like flowy tops that are fine if they are a little big. but i tried to get a suit at banana and it was ridic. i would have needed it altered a lot. even the petites are like that.

old navy is horrible too. i wish i could just go in and buy a shirt or jeans without having to try every single thing on. especially w/ the quality control - even if i want 2 of the EXACT same tshirts in different colors (since they're often buy 2 for $10 or whatever) i have to try them BOTH on because the garments vary soooo much. they never fit the same.

i do really like designer jean sizing ( its almost like men's pants!). i wish all women's pants would be sized like mens with L and W. it would make things easier. though i guess in places like gap, old navy etc it wouldn't fix anything - same problem, different numbers.

I just won this brand new Ann Taylor Loft dress for $10.50 off eBay. Free s/h. I have no idea how she is going to make money off this but I hope it looks good.

What a steal! A cinched belt would be perfect with that dress. And it really doesn't need much in terms of accessories. Simple shoes and handbag only, as the print is fairly busy.

I try to shop in my friends' closets.

About once a month, my friends and I hold a Clothing Swap Wine Night. We trade shoes, purses, jewelry, dresses, perfumes, sweaters ... you name it. I got a free Betsey Johnson dress one time that goes for around $400 retail.

Does anyone else do this?

We should totally do that.

I have tons of clothes, shoes, purses, jewl etc that I wouldn't mind swapping.

Does anyone want to do this? I wouldn't mind hosting. I have a lot of space.

swap idea sounds cool!

and i'm sure this is somewhere in the 91 pages of this thread OR perhaps a thread of its own but have any of you gotten the gardasil vaccine? if yes, why. if no, why. and what kind of birth control do you use? i'm starting a new kind (pill) and i'm just curious. i used to take ortho tri cyclen lo but i'm switching to mircette.

I'm on nuvaring because I'm too scatterbrained to remember a pill.

I didn't get the vaccine because I'm too old and I don't have health insurance.

for bc I take zovia, but I've been on nearly 10 different kinds over the years due to ovarian problems. I have to switch every so many years because they lose effectiveness (not pregnancy-related).

i just got gardasil today. i wasn't sure but it seemed like a good idea? i just haven't read a lot about it or talked to that many people who have gotten it. i had a physical and was like...might as well (free). i also got a hepatitis A shot (why, i don't know). and she's running some sort of gluten intolerance test on my blood work because my tummy hates me!

I didn't get Gardisil, because my OBGYN advised that I don't. I'm married. Have only ever had 1 partner (husband), and he's just been with me. So, she told me the possible risks associated wouldn't be worth any kind of benefit. She did say she recommended it to most women under 25. I do believe my younger sister got the vaccine.

yea she recommended it to me today (gardasil). i just turned 25.

she recommended i switch BC to mircette because i have problems with painful periods and they are really irregular and it is supposed to be better at helping with that. so we will see.

oh being a woman is so fun

I've been on ortho cyclen, ortho tri cyclen, ortho tri cyclen lo, etc, etc and none of them helped with the pain. Zovia has been good to me, but I can tell it's time to switch soon.

^^ yea in hs i took 2 prescriptions on top of BC for pain. ponstel (just like a prescription anti inflam) and vicodin (which totally hurt my stomach).

it just sucks being incapacitated by your period. because people think you're faking or are like a feeble woman. i can handle cramps but i can't handle the whole feeling that my ovaries are exploding/being scraped out with a spoon/nausea/upset stomach/taking 8 ibuprofen and having no relief type of pain.

my period has gotten significantly worse as i've gotten older. it used to be one single cramp when i started and that was it. now it's like an every couple of hours, doubled over, excrutiating sharp pain. but i feel like a wimp asking for pain meds for my period.

I KNOW!!!

I was a catcher in softball and got pushed, knocked around, hit by bats, pierced by cleats, and taken fast balls to the face... and NOTHING compares to the pain of cramps.
