I'm wondering how it changes the blue light to red. And that reminded me that back when Nintendo first announced the Wii and they had that initial promotional video, they had it in like four or five colors. I remember a bright red one and an olive green one in addition to the regular white. I wonder what happened to that idea.

OK, so, SSB:B has online and everything...but yet again, the friend code system. You can fight against people around the world, BUT your scores don't get recorded or ANYTHING. So I mean, what's the point then? It wouldn't be bad if not for that. 9/19/2007 7:15:31 PM |

My only concern with SSMB online is cheating. Are they gonna let exploiters run the show like in Mario Kart DS? I know, I know, snaking is "part of the game", but it wasn't the way it was intended to be played and makes for some extremely boring matches. Nintendo needs to get better at moderating their online games. 9/20/2007 9:23:19 AM |

then how are we going to identify the people who care way too much about video games? its nice to know who to stay away from.9/20/2007 9:25:27 AM |

I care way too much about video games and I didn't do that. If it doesn't result in a better gaming experience, it doesn't matter to me. It's more of a personalization/customization thing to me.

There are dozens of issues I'd like to see Nintendo address with their online infrastructure before cheating. In their current setup it's basically impossible to give any kind of feedback for 'bad' players.
FWIW, there have been exploits in Halo 2 that went unaddressed. I recall reading about a bug that lets you pass flags through walls that bungie basically admitted they weren't going to correct. Might be wrong on that one though.

i bought one from target and i play on a 42" panasonic plasma and it looks wonderful. a lot better than it used to. i don't know what brand it was...the logo looked like a thumbprint or something i think (found it...Psyclone was the brand). it was $20 when i got it, then 2 weeks later they went on clearance for $8.
yeah make sure you check the display settings on the wii itself. it doesn't automatically adjust.

HOLY FUCK
Sin and Punishment is available on virtual console. ($12) This seriously made my day.
It's a game that never made it to america. Here's a little info:
Quote : | "The game is essentially a rail shooter. Forward progress through the levels is automatic; the player's job is to aim and fire at enemies, sidestep, roll, jump, or double-jump to avoid attacks and obstacles.
The player can switch between manual (red targeting reticle) and lock-on (purple targeting reticle) firing modes at any time. Lock-on mode "sticks" the reticle to enemies, but is less damaging than manually-aimed fire. The player can also attack using a powerful energy sword by tapping the fire button when enemies, or certain types of projectiles, are within close range. Projectiles struck in this manner are bounced back and can potentially inflict great damage on opponents. While the player attacks, a timer at the top of the screen counts down. When the timer hits 0, the player gradually loses more and more life until he or she dies." |

Plus the real Super Mario Bros 2!! This game was never released in North America. Before all of you jump up and say Mario All Stars, that was an updated version with better graphics and an easier difficulty. This is the real deal, hard and all. 10/1/2007 3:03:21 PM |

^^I'd say Warioware, it is a lot more fast paced than Rayman and you can get up to 12 players going. The only downside is that you can only play multiplayer with one controller (You have to pass off the controller and as the game gets faster and faster you pretty much have to throw it to people which can get pretty fun in itself...) 10/9/2007 3:11:56 PM |

Updates
Sonic in Brawl Brawl delayed, new date is TBA DS demos will soon be on the Wii MarioKart Wii will not have motorcycles..will be out in 2008
Monster Hunter 3 will be a wii title, not a ps3 title like it originally thought. This is big news as this is a very popular franchise in Japan.
Wii Fit will cost approximately 75 bucks
Wii Ware will get more than just small little puzzle games, Square Enix will release Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles on it
Nintendo has announced Pokemon Bokujou, which translates to the English Pokemon Farm. With this Wii Ware title, you can transfer your Pokemon from Pearl and Diamond to the Wii, then raise them in a farm-like environment. Other Wii Ware software shown includes Star Soldier R, Mojipittan Wii (this is a Bandai Namco word puzzle game that's a big hit on the PSP and DS) and Doctor Mario.
Software for Wii Ware will be released at a low price. There will be no problems with stock, so there will be no missed opportunities for sales. The competition of ideas will be important. 10/10/2007 11:50:40 AM |

i'm a sports game fan, and even though i can probably play sports games better on a console with a normal controller, they're a lot more fun on the wii. picked up nba live 08 and fifa 08 the past couple weeks and they're both a lot of fun. i do have some problems with responsiveness of the controller, mostly in nba live, but gameplay is pretty solid anyway, especially in fifa. 10/11/2007 12:33:35 AM |
