Have y'all noticed a significant difference in our O this year with Drinkwitz? I honestly don't know that I've noticed anything significantly different...not in terms of results, but play calling and style. Is there much of a difference? Less jet sweeps and more wildcat but that's about it.

Let's have a little perspective.... we muffed a punt on the 15 yard line and dropped -3- touchdown passes in the end zone... none of those have a thing to do with coaching.

If it was 31-17 state in the fourth instead of 20-10 Miami this thread is completely different.

It's a fucking shame coaches have to depend on 18-22 year olds to do their job to keep theirs. Even the dude at halftime said the same "throw and catch, football is a simple game"


6 drops in the first half, two were in the end zone. If we could catch a cold we blow out Miami.

its the coaches job to put our team in a chance to win...this season we have hand a chance to win all but one game and colossally fucked up that chance. DD should be fired for recruiting comeplete fucking morons to play for him.

Hopefully there are enough ssclark's in the fanbase to keep this shit show going. We don't have the willingness/ability to go out and hire real coaches. DD was a mistake but he's a mistake we have to ride out. My advice is to bring up "how close we were agains (name a team)" or "how awesome was the ND game" around fellow state fans and we'll keep the wheels of mediocrity rolling until we have the finances to make a move.

Winning on Friday would do a lot to keep him around. Unfortunately this game actually matters to UNC.

DD should be fired because he can't,for the life of him, find players who can perform simple football tasks like their taught. Unless of course your supposition is really that DD coaches his players to drop touchdowns or the 112 other drops we've had this season. In no way is it a players responsibility to catch a football that hits him in the face

how many punts has cherry muffed? It feels like that is 1 out of the hundreds he has caught. Nobody is perfect. As for the WRs, we are asking guys to play out of their natural position (yest there are multiple wr positions) so they are more prone to making mistakes. This is due to injury and not recruiting or coaching. Thats my story and i'm sticking to it.

Oh, I also like how the blame can be put on players for not executing and thus losing, but the credit given to the coach for winning. The team played their hearts out in the Clemson game and forced many fumbles and had a chance to win it in the 4th quarter. But instead Doeren decides to run the clock out and put faith in a spotty kicker instead of trying to punch it into the end zone with Dayes who was having an excellent game ?? Anyway, he's an average coach on his best day and will never lead us past a mediocre season. I'll say bear with him for one more season as its not like State football is a traditional powerhouse.

If I recall correctly, he was close to beating Clemson his first year as well, and in his second year had a multiple touchdown lead over FSU in the first quarter. He was close to beating Clemson this year as well, and the same thing for FSU. All this highlights to me is that he either has the worst luck in coaching history or he simply is not a good coach. I think its more the latter.

Whatever we do, just don't overcompensate looking for certain qualities in our next coach. Stick to hiring either experienced old farts with pedigree, or unproven MAC coaches. We should stumble on a great one based on probability alone.
