Somebody should make an NC State theme for PS3
3/19/2009 9:02:47 PM
The Show is a must if you love sports. Its even better than last year's.^That would be the tits.
3/21/2009 11:15:32 PM
is there any way to stream netflix to the ps3? i know xbox 360 has it, and theres some $100 box you can buy...but are there any options for the ps3?ive been reading about this playon service but does it work consistently?]
3/25/2009 1:06:44 PM
Rumored to be coming very soon.
3/25/2009 2:47:03 PM
any links?

http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/25/is-netflix-ps3-bound-too/i dunno what to think - i'd love to have it happen but chances are that's a fake
3/25/2009 4:25:21 PM
It would make a lot of sense for everyone involved. The only reason I can see it NOT happening is if MS paid them for exclusivity. Which would be pretty dumb but typical.
3/26/2009 8:50:16 AM
Sony also has their own movie rental service in the PSN store so it could be a conflict of interest.
3/26/2009 9:08:43 AM
I played Killzone 2 and thought it sucked. Man, what a waste and all that hype?
3/26/2009 10:05:07 AM
^ Yes, indeed what a waste of time and millions of dollars because you don't like it.
3/26/2009 10:23:31 AM
No need to jump down his throat, but yeah, it reviewed really well and is developing a pretty solid online userbase. Calling it a waste is a bit much. I personally enjoyed the heck out of it and thought it was at least better than CoD4 (the only console FPS it can be directly compared too I think). What didn't you like about it specifically?
3/26/2009 10:32:05 AM
3/26/2009 11:28:19 AM
Nothing personal man, I just didn't care for it - yikes! And dude, I'm really over the whole console wars of Sony/MS/Nintendo games so it really doesn't matter to me how well it sold. I'm sure it sold just fine....but that has nothing to do with my opinion so you can put your Aegis down. Shrike, I don't know, you know it looks great certainly and the weapons are cool but the lack of variety and setting is just freaking tiring me out. The content as a whole is boring. I didn't care for the controls either but you know that isn't my signature problem with the game. I had the same problem with resistance(s) and lots of other FPS games lately in a way - I'm just fatigued with these dull settings and content - KZ2 is just so damn gray, brown, and dull and it wore on me. It's all grey concrete slabs with grey concrete blocks and grey metal sheets thrown about them. The environs just feel oppressively dull, like playing in a building site or bomb site. Shoot space Nazis with your big stupid space marine bro team and give the player more rubble and concrete than he'd get playing all the urban maps in the whole CoD series at once loses it's luster.Don't get me wrong though, technically it's impressive! I mean, what it depicts, it depicts well, but I find that content boring. Rendering that kind of uninspired material and shelled concrete to a high level of polish doesn't actually make it look good to me.[Edited on March 26, 2009 at 11:36 AM. Reason : -]

sounds like you guys are mostly just sick of console FPS's.....makes sense, they haven't really done anything ground breaking since goldeneye/perfectdark
3/26/2009 12:51:14 PM
That's fair. Some more than others draw my ire though, particularly big 'landmark ones' that don't do anything new or innovative sadly. It's not just the PS3, all platforms. The last FPS that I thought was ground breaking was L4D and Team Fortress 2. Big surprise that...I'm a self admitting Valve googly-eyed fanboy.[Edited on March 26, 2009 at 12:58 PM. Reason : -]

^^^ actually, no. I love FPS.. but that game was near horrendous for me to play. I did not like the way you move, the gun, aiming... the games AI also seemed retarded.[Edited on March 26, 2009 at 1:01 PM. Reason : aegr]

I honestly thought Killzone was one of the most colorful "realistic war" shooters I'd played. By that I mean, yeah, the setting is that same industrial environment with all the grays and browns (and big dumb space marines), but I didn't feel as oppressed by it as I did in other shooters. It also introduces a little more variety in the later levels, with some desert environments and the final area where you're fighting in the midst of essentially nuclear fallout that put sort of an reddish/orange tinge on everything. I dunno, maybe I haven't been as desensitized to these sort of shooters as some of you since I hadn't played as many. And yeah, it feels and plays differently then a lot of other shooters. I didn't love it at first either, but once I wrapped my head around the nuances of the controls, it started to feel very rewarding. This is definitely a personal preference thing though, I can see how some people who are used to more responsive shooters would never like it.[Edited on March 26, 2009 at 1:10 PM. Reason : :]

wasn't taking it personal, I just think its lame when someone calls a game a waste of time because they don't like it. That's like me saying that "The Show" is a waste because I personally don't like baseball games.Anyway, I'm still having fun with it, but I haven't even come close to finishing single player. All I do is play online and I think there is a lot of strategy to it, although it can become a CF at points with spawn points at objectives, etc. Hopefully they can do something to balance it out a bit and make it less ridiculous at times. Overall I think it feels much different than other shooters and I really enjoy it and don't anticipate getting another one until Modern Warfare 2.
3/26/2009 1:32:38 PM
Well you have to remember than on any internet message board, anyone's message essentially is opinionated and mileages vary. I mean, unless there is language declaring it as a universal waste for everyone, you can assume I just mean my own little ant sized opinion.

Worms hit the PSN store last night. I am totally going to get that.
3/27/2009 8:35:34 AM
Anyone pick up Worms? its a lot of fun. Online is good, no lag and I haven't found anyone glitching (pretty hard game to glitch I would think). I like these old school games.
4/1/2009 11:35:56 AM
Is it the same as the 360 one released like 2 years back ?
4/1/2009 11:38:54 AM
I dunno, probably.
4/1/2009 2:00:43 PM
They patches KZ2 the other day. Just fixed some glitches I think. Game is still very fun online, but after you've unlocked everything and reached the highest ranking you're only playing for fun. Like there's really no other goal to reach other than just having fun. This is one of these things that's a double edged sword for me now in gaming. I like that there are goals in games like all the ranks in COD, etc. and I like achievements and trophies, but it feels like once I reach the highest goal there is nothing else left to do and just playing for fun is not enough. pretty stupid I know.I like how in COD4 there is prestige and you do it all over again, but that doesn't really do much for you either.
4/2/2009 2:12:51 PM
anyone happen to have Web of Shadows and want to sell it?
4/2/2009 3:04:10 PM
Anyone looking forward to sacred 2? It looks like a hack n slash style dungeon crawl game like diablo 2 and will have lots of quests (aka lots of gametime). Its supposedly out for the PC now but haven't heard much about it. out for the ps3 on may 12th'ish
4/2/2009 10:16:39 PM
Looks like Tales of Vesperia is going to be released on PS3. Sure, it was on XBox 360 first, but at least it'll help start populating the PS3 RPG library...
4/3/2009 1:44:24 AM
Oh word, Vesperia is the one I really wanted to play. Will definitely be picking that up.
4/3/2009 6:55:52 AM
Picked up Valkyria Chronicles last week during the Gamestop half-off sale...it's an incredible game. Highly recommend it to anyone who likes tactical RPGs (or even if you've never played many before, like me).
4/12/2009 11:45:32 PM
littlebigplanet is insanely awesome. just picked it up yesterday. didn't realize it was a platformer at first until i played it for the first time last week. many hours of fun are to be had.

littlebigplanet:my game won't save anymore. it stopped saving on the Elephant Temple. i've played through to halfway through the Bunker (3 levels up), but it still won't save. i get no error message. i've found a couple of forums that say to delete community game data, but i don't have any. i've never played this game or any other on the ps3 online. i play 1-3 player at home. i do connect for system updates & to dl rock band songs sometimes. i've never made a new level or any of that so i can't delete that game data either.i don't know what to do and this really really really sucks. i've emailed MM but i doubt they'll respond.ideas?

does anybody else suck complete ass at Road to the SHow in MLB THe show?Batting makes me want to hang myself
4/29/2009 3:43:03 PM
^it's tough when you first start out. My first RttS player got buried on the bench, so he didn't get any training points and his stats started falling. So when I restarted, I picked a team that had a couple of really good players above me at my position, but was shallow in the minors--that way, I got to start at AA the first year and train up, then start at AAA the next couple of years. I got tons more training points that way, and by the time I hit the majors my player was actually ready to go.
4/29/2009 3:47:59 PM
batting is pretty hard at most parts in the game. fielders are way too fast or get too good of jumps on the ball, it's nearly impossible to hit triples and sometimes even doubles on balls down the line. its also way too easy to ground into double plays. i always play with the braves, and they may not be a great hitting team but i think i've only scored 9 once, and over 5 maybe one or two other times. but then again its a little more fun not just steamrolling through a season at like 159-3
4/29/2009 11:48:33 PM
I am a closer on RTTS and I cannot get better even when I am lights out for a period. Training points are seemingly too hard to earn. I am 25 (year 7) with the Astros. I start every year in AAA because my overall is so bad and then get promoted because I meet my goals.
4/30/2009 12:31:33 AM
New Pixel Junk game looks totally awesome.
4/30/2009 8:46:22 AM
i think i fixed it, although i'm not sure how this worked. i went online and played the next level with someone else, and it saved, and continues to save while disconnected from the internet. weird.well, ftr, that's how you can fix it.
4/30/2009 1:14:24 PM
Infamous gets a 9.2 from IGNPumped for this one
5/12/2009 6:19:36 PM
i think imma preorder it
5/12/2009 6:25:11 PM
I want to wait and see. The video review was pretty good but I still question how fun it will be and for how long. Looks very redundant from all I've seen but I'm sure I just need to play it and try it out.Right now still having tons of fun with Killzone 2. Any of you guys still playing?
5/13/2009 9:21:38 AM
I kinda stopped and have been mainly playing the show, I'm like 60 games deep into my Mets seasonI'll probably get into sometime this summer before COD 2 dominates my world in the fall
5/13/2009 9:26:22 AM
5/13/2009 9:48:28 AM
there's a ton of strategy to multiplayer. Apparently you just sucked at it.I'm enjoying Killzone so much that I don't think I'll enjoy going back to call of duty when they release their next game.
5/13/2009 9:49:56 AM
^ maybe i did suck at it - but i doubt it
