Oh, plus I would have wasted half an internship and just had to do it all over again next summer. But this is the dumbest internship ever. The supervisors are basically like "here's a bunch of freetime for you to explore Japan, but oh sorry, there's nothing to actually do here." They have given us zero assignments that didn't take me more than a couple hours. The other people here must be complete 'tards, cause it took them like a week to make a schedule.

^No, I'm a fleet recreation intern. Heavens I'd never join the military. I swear these people are always running around like chickens with their heads cut off. My main beef with Japan is that it's very dense, vey industrial and ugly (think State but like 10x uglier), and it costs an arm and a leg to go anywhere. If I were in a larger city it wouldn't be as bad because I could use public transportation a little better, or just walk and tour and shop and all. Buuut, Kyushu is rural, and Sasebo is teeny. There's one shopping center and I already exhausted the possibilites with that the first weekend. I've signed up for every tour they offer though, and am working on getting my reef diving and kayaking certifications.
