I'm guessing the BD stuff was all rumor...but obviously hope it was true.

I was in PackPride chat earlier today and someone asked "so what's the deal with BD". I respond with the obvious, "I have no insider info, but common sense says that was all made up and he wouldn't come". Some other guy gets mad at me and tells me to "stop spreading rumors unless I can verify them blah blah". lol

That place is going to have a record-breaking meltdown if we wind up with Shaka (who is my #1 right now of any real option).

I'll be happy with Smart, compared to the list of other realistic candidates. Successful mid-major coaches don't stay mid-major for long, so it's probably better to be a year early than a year late from an "experience" standpoint, and his experience working on Donovan and Purnell's staff would suggest he can make this transition. This is not a GMU situation where the coach has a long track record of doing nothing, and is already old. Of course Jim Larranaga or someone of that ilk may be preferable to Smart for the anti-whippersnapper faction.

@ohmy....i understand your frustration about BD...like I said, I was in no way saying he would accept. just passing my info along about the offer.

i'm just as frustrated w/ the way this search is being handled. I'm coming to the concensus that no-one has any idea what is going on. Probably going the Smart/Marshall route, which I hope not, but anything is better than what Sidney did w/ those kids.

Again, I still hope there's a chance Yow proves us all wrong. She could be leaking abunch of disinformation....which is cruel for us pack fans, but a surprise would always be nice!!

and like i posted ealier, all i was doing was passing along what i had heard...with multiple posts saying all we did was make an offer. at not point in time did i state he was accepting or anything of the sort. and i can handle taking heat from you all about that, but

of course if he turns us down it's going to get downplayed like he had no desire to come here in the first place. why the hell would he?

go tell gator nation that he was in Raleigh interviewing...when you interview behind your bosses back, do you go tell him about it? i know i sure as hell wouldn't.
