when you say x number of days to get the box, is that number of days once the order has "processed" or when you put it in?
this is bullshit 6/18/2008 6:46:05 PM |

they sent me my "coffin" about 3 days after i called them...got a UPS package notice about a week after i mailed it in...all in all about a week and a half for me
but i've heard of people where the whole process takes about 3 weeks
you could always buy a box from a store, only use the console, then take it back in a week or two when your box comes back and just return it...just check on the return policy before...ask if you can bring it back if you think it sucks] 6/18/2008 6:48:49 PM |

Nope. I bought the High-Calorie Katamari stage. I'll probably try and dedicate points just to get Beautiful Katamari content. I'm not going to trade in the game, so I think it'll be worth it.6/18/2008 8:21:21 PM |

so maybe lie and say it's your video card?
but I was quoted 2-3 weeks and it took less than a week and a half 6/19/2008 4:01:00 AM |

I want a really nice in-depth RPG with a turn based style battle system.
Isn't Lost Odyssey like that? How is that game?
I miss the FF type games. 6/23/2008 4:13:30 PM |

it has an alright story and is a nice old-school jrpg, but i wouldnt call it super indepth. you dont have a ton of equipment and the skills level pretty simply.
i still enjoyed it and it'll last you over 30 hrs i believe. 6/23/2008 7:15:16 PM |

Looking over some of the previews of upcoming games, am I the only one that misses turn based RPGs?
It appears that most RPGs now have real time fighting instead of menu selection
and they also don't seem as in-depth when it comes to character builds 6/25/2008 8:46:00 AM |

yeah pick up lost odyssey
some gave it bad reviews because it didnt bring that many new things to the genre.
but oh well, it executes the turn based final fantasy style agme to perfection. if you like that sort of thing then it doesnt even matter that it didnt bring anything new to the genre. lost odyssey is a really good game, and it spans 4 disks. definitely worth picking up 6/25/2008 2:23:57 PM |

there arent really any for 360. im just saying that the general trend seems to move towards real-time and lower character management. there are still some good rpg's out there, but many just wont have that customization you are looking for. 6/26/2008 9:23:44 AM |

I'm pretty sure TLR and IU are going to be your standard turn based JRPG. Tales of Vesperia is going to have real time/action oriented combat like the other tales games, but it should still be awesome. I'm right there with you, there aren't enough JRPGs on the home consoles this gen. The DS is pretty much home to the lions share, and it's hard for me to get into them on there.

Civ Revolution got an 8.8 on IGN
Supposedly it's not as in depth as the PC (obviously), but if you've been wanting a civ game for the console, this is a good way to go
Since I have Civ 4, I will probably never need to purchase another Civ game (lol), but some of you may want to check it out 7/3/2008 8:38:56 AM |

Pelican air flo cooler for the Xbox 360
Does anyone who may have one, have an opinion on it? I have an older 360 Pro.

whats the best kind of xbox 360 to get? i know there's a couple different versions of it with different accessories included. i'd like to get one mainly for sports games and first person shooters, and i'd like to play online. i didnt see one that included the network adapter and stuff, so i guess you just have to get that junk separate? 7/9/2008 7:13:38 PM |
TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148442 Posts user info edit post |
they all have builtin network adapters for a wired connection
if you want to connect wirelessly, you have to buy that separate, regardless of the console
the main differences are hard drive, graphics connection, etc 7/9/2008 7:15:08 PM |

you could go with the small hard drive...i think its 20 gigs...thats what i got in november 05 when i got my box and i've been able to download demos and save all my save game data without issue...even loaded a few CDs on there...i think the biggest hdd is 120 gigs if i'm not mistaken

My cousin had a similar thing to the one shown and it fucked his xbox up, i dunno about the burning out of the contacts, but his would cause the 360 to freeze, etc because the fan was drawing too much power. I think you are probably better off just keeping lots of air space around the 3607/9/2008 7:43:26 PM |

my 360 finally red ringed this morning. I've only had it 14 months. I could barely understand the indian guy so I did the online method and should be getting a box to mail it pretty soon.
I was doing everything right too! Leaving plenty of room for air to circulate around it and not playing it for longer than 4 hours at a time to keep it from overheating. 7/11/2008 2:21:11 PM |

You can buy Assassin's Creed new for 360 for $24 now at Amazon.
I'm 6 assassinations in, and I can see why some people don't like it, since you do basically the same thing every mission.
However, I'm still not bored of it, so I can't complain. I love the architecture of the cities, and each of them has a very different feel and seems alive. I love the architecture of Damascus, and Acre definitely has the dreary feel of a city that has just been sacked (plus it has the coolest looking guards, I love the Knights with red helmets).
One of my complaints though, is that the fighting actually feels like cheating to me. I try to be stealthy and kill quickly and quietly because it's fun, but if I do screw up and get surrounded by 12 guys, it doesn't matter, I can kill all of them barely breaking a sweat by countering their moves and using throwing knives. 7/12/2008 2:12:26 AM |
