It did just blow up within the last hour. I've been watching it since it was a TCU (Towering Cumulus) for an hour or so. There seem to be three cells that just took off and they aren't really moving anywhere.

My guess is that a lot of what you see on that map isn't actually reaching the ground. Or maybe it just isn't very accurate. What say you, weather nerds?

I was in the Wal-Mart in Garner when the storm hit. Had a nice big power-surge that had all the glorious and graceful patrons of Wal-mart whoopin' and hollerin'. Loud thunder and heavy rain.
