gallon challenge is stupid as fuck and can kill you. intake of that much water in the stomach forces itself into the blood stream and eventually goes to the brain. so LAME!!

well im sure for someone who doesnt drink that much water on a normal basis or whose stomach is much smaller than yours... they would have issues needless to say.

I could do the gallon of water. I can drink a 16.9 oz. Aquafina in like 20 seconds.

No. For starters, it involves milk, but anyway...

Filling your stomach with water will not result in the water being forced into the blood and to the brain. That's the most absurd thing I have ever read on here. Too much water can lead to low sodium levels, which hurts organ function. You're literally washing the electrolytes out of your body. There have been people who have gotten sick or died from too much water. The one I'm familiar with involved a woman who lost her baby to dehydration and ended up hydrating herself to death.

But, no, the water will not be forced into your blood and to the brain.

i was told it was with water so whatever.. thats just a misunderstanding. what i had been told is that too large of a water intake could result in neural damage. something about water entering brain cells... this is what i found on a couple websites.

"From the cell's point of view, water intoxication produces the same effects as would result from drowning in fresh water. Electrolyte imbalance and tissue swelling can cause an irregular heartbeat, allow fluid to enter the lungs, and may cause fluttering eyelids. Swelling puts pressure on the brain and nerves, which can cause behaviors resembling alcohol intoxication. Swelling of brain tissues can cause seizures, coma and ultimately death unless water intake is restricted and a hypertonic saline (salt) solution is administered."

"Physiology of water intoxication

Drinking excess water in the absence of dietary sodium results in hyponatremia, an overdilution of sodium in the blood plasma, which in turn causes an osmotic shift of water from the blood plasma into brain cells. The brain cells swell as result of osmotic pressure, and will ultimately cease to function. Also, many other cells in the body may undergo cytolysis, where the cell membranes unable to stand the osmotic pressure explode, killing the cell. Initial symptoms typically include light-headedness, sometimes accompanied by nausea, vomiting, headache and/or malaise. Plasma sodium levels below 100 mmol/L (2.3g/L) frequently result in cerebral edema, seizures, coma, and death within a few hours of drinking the excess water. "

she's great... she's grown up to be a little angel i take her out to bars etc. and she just chills and eventually sleeps at my feet

makes me feel a lot less guilty for being gone all day and then wanting to go out for a beer.
