Date night has now been split to Monday night AND Tuesday night... instead of just tonight.

so let the snow fall all it wants, because I got 2 for the price of 1.

we decide that we wanna watch a movie

the following is almost an exact transcript of the conversation we just had

thumper: you wanna watch a cartoon? you still haven't seen Up.
eleusis: yeah, we can watch that.
thumper: or we could watch Cars, you know you like that.
eleusis: nah, i'm doing our taxes. i'm already crying enough as it is.
thumper: how much do we owe?
eleusis: [insert obscene dollar amount]

i appreciated it for all that it was visually. however, the story was just way too much for a cartoon IMO. like, kids are in the theater going HUH? because the message of the movie was so far over their heads. i get it, i agree with it -- but it's too much to try and say through a cartoon.

tonight's dinner is as easy at it gets

gonna put on a nice red wine reduction too

its seriously,

shop
chop
throw some olive oil and herbs
roast
eat

thats what i dont get.. you can cook good meals and it be very very easy

and yet, so many poeple get their dinners from the microwave

I like to cook good food, but when you don't have much time, a microwave is very convenient.

time's not an issue

you can quick marinade then broil chicken/turkey breasts and steam veggies in under 12 minutes.

if you can't sacrifice 12 minutes, then you might want to re-evaluate your priorities.

I'm not saying that I cook the majority of my meals in a microwave. There are times, however, when I'm rushing to fit things into my day that a 4 minute meal in the microwave that I can scarf down just as fast is a great convenience.

dont worry

im just being a dick

im going to microwave leftovers from this for a while

it just really bothers me at work when i see so many of the people i eat lunch with whip out the lean cuisines everyday thinking that they're going to be healthy

and friends doing the same every night for dinner.

but im also the dick who doesn't buy deli meat and makes his own

one of these turkey breasts will be for my sandwiches this week

last week for lunch, i had another roasted turkey breast, alfalfa sprouts, homemade roasted red peppers, a quasi guac spread with avocado, shallot, lime, cillantro... on toasted multigrain.

gonna do the same this week, got the avocados in a brown bag to ripen tonight so i can make that and the peppers tomorrow.

it'll be good for mon->friday.

even normal sandwiches can be nommy

[Edited on January 30, 2010 at 5:49 PM. Reason : d]

[Edited on January 30, 2010 at 5:49 PM. Reason : sorry, with enough lemon to prevent oxidation in the spread]

it's kinda weird to see someone's "save the date" pictures on fb

for a wedding you're not going to be invited to

and the pictures were taken at your parents house

where you grew up
