so i am trying Hulu for the first time

I load up a video and the ad loads up and i see the progress bar but when the video starts, there is no image. i can hear the dialog but i see just black. anyone had this issue? again, i see the ads so i know general video works...

There is no way to play pirated/burned Blu-ray games on the PS3 yet, so you really can't make back ups.

that sucks, i just hope the disc cracking is a one-time thing. it's the first piece of software i've had fail on me.

i wonder how long i'm going to have to wait for a replacement. hopefully EA isn't too slow on these matters.

how did the disc crack? if it just cracked while in the ps3 then you can probably send off for a new one for free. if you sat on it you're SOL, if it got hot and broke again you're SOL

The disc was already in the ps3. I started it up and it wouldn't read. When I took it out, there were two hairline cracks coming from the inner circle. I sent it back to EA last Monday and UPS tracker says they received it Thursday.

So now, we wait. I just want to play some soccer

Is there a reason why, when there's an update for an XBox game or something, it takes less than a minute to download and install, but the same thing on PS3 takes FOREVER? I just popped in Little Big Planet and Resistance 2 today for the first time in about a month and both took over 15 minutes to download and apply patches. wtf?

i've got my ps3 hooked up to my hdtv through HDMI cable.

the ps3 is outputting at 1080p. However, when I play games that support 1080p GTA, MGS, etc...
they are only outputting at 720p. What settings do I need to adjust?

Most games will output at their native resolution (usually 720p) rather than upscaling to 1080p. The reason for this is that in most cases, your TVs internal scalar will do a better job than the PS3. You can try it the other way by going into the PS3s display settings and just unchecking 720p as an output mode. That should force the PS3 to upscale everything to 1080p.

Pretty sweet so far.Its somewhat repetitive so far, but its pretty fun and the story seems pretty good so far. Leaves you with a lot of questions trying to figure things outs. The gameplay is very smooth. Although the graphics aren't the best, it looks very good an when stuff starts exploding it looks very pretty. I'm definitely enjoying it as a good single player experience.
