As a whole? probably. The Epic is better hardware-wise but senseUI > touchwiz and HTC seems to manage to be able to update their phones in a timely manner.
As for LG, their Optimus line seems to be doing pretty well and a lot of people liked the Ally as an entry level device so we'll see how the high end goes.1/5/2011 12:01:24 PM |

http://phandroid.com/2011/01/05/att-announces-samsung-infuse-4g-with-4-5-inch-super-amoled-plus-display/
Quote : | "So here it is, folks: AT&T is jumping headfirst into 4G with the announcement of a slew of Android devices. OK, so they are taking cues from T-Mobile and simply labeling their HSPA+ 4G, but be that as it may the handsets to go along with it are quite simply amazing. The Samsung Infuse 4G is another in the growing line of Galaxy S phones touting the latest in Sammy’s display technology, the Super AMOLED Plus. The new display gets a 50 percent boost in sub-pixel count to improve contrast and outdoor visibility.
In terms of other specs, the handset holds a 1.2GHz single-core Hummingbird, an 8MP rear camera and 1.3MP front-facing camera. The Super AMOLED Plus comes in at a scale-tipping 4.5-inches. The phone is planned to launch with the TouchWiz interface atop Android 2.2, and given Samsung’s history with updates it might stay that way for a while." |

^^^That looks pretty badass. It says "redesigned for tablet" so does that mean there will be a version of Android specifically for tablets or will they be essentially the same OS as on the phone?
Also, with some of those improvements in that video, I don't really see a need for Chrome OS anymore. 1/5/2011 7:22:21 PM |

^^^ You'll probably want to look into downgrading back to 2.1. The way they talk, the froyo leak was really buggy.
^ not sure. Believe Honeycomb was supposed to be their tablet OS so they may just skip it and go to Ice Cream for mobile phones. 1/5/2011 7:27:37 PM |

Looks like the Etna has been renamed the "Droid Bionic" will be the first LTE device on verizon from Moto in Q2
also, that Atrix has my name on it.

Not sure what you mean by more convenient and cleaner. The icons just look too iphoney and the widgets are meh. I've ditched it altogether and am using ADW launcher on the Fascinate. As for Sense, ran it on the OG Droid I had for a while and only got rid of it after the developers gave up on fixing the RIL so you wouldn't be limited to using wifi.1/6/2011 6:38:24 PM |

Holy cow that Atrix looks amazing. I've clung to my sprint plan with a lot of fervor due to a TWW'er keeping it straight. But 4G in Fayetteville paired with that kind of hardware is just amazing.
Sprint needs to get freaking data service on Hwy 24 and WiMax in the 'ville (not that I've seen a device yet that can hang 4G for more than a few hours.) 1/7/2011 12:00:50 AM |

anyone have any input on custom ROMs? i was gonna wait to see if something baller got released within my 30 day window before heavily modifying my X, but since that's not happening, might as well pimp the shit out of it.
i've been reading about different ones like gummyjar, apex, rubix, etc., with roughly 50% of posters on other forums going with apex, and the rest something else. i'm leaning towards apex, but i figured people close to my own age might help me decide better. 1/7/2011 9:27:30 AM |
