You're either trolling or an idiot.

That was Clancy Brown, a very distinctive actor, he was absolutely the man from Sayid's flashback.

I bet he sent desmond on the "race" because he knew he'd get lost and find the island.

he didn't "send" desmond on the race

desmond did it to spite him

presumably without the old man's blessing

The only thing I can think of that would lead Desmond's bitch to look for an electromagnetic variance is the pilot's last location and transmission of the plane that crashed. Unless her Dad knows all about it and she got it out of him.

I would like to point out that I made an oath to personally piss all over J.J. Abrams if it turned out that Jack's dad was the leader.

Because there was no way in hell.

I will be interested to see, however, whether Henry Gale is actually the man in charge, or, perhaps, he's #2.

How do the pilot and desmond have anything in common?

desmond arrived by boat nearly 3 years before the plane crashed

girl knows her dad's invovled

she investigates what her dad's up to without him knowing

finds out the "race around the world" has something to do with this electromagnet thing

she deduces that desmond's trapped somewhere b/c of her dad

she pays her own lackeys to stay at the north or south pole to track electromagnetic anomolies

when they find one they call her

it's not that hard people

I can't believe none of you noticed the most obvious thing that explains the entire show.

I'll give you a hint:
The Hatch ...or all of them were made like what 20-30 years ago.... but their laundry machines (washer/dryer) are brand fucking new.

Did this bother anyone else?

Fucking maytag

[Edited on May 24, 2006 at 11:55 PM. Reason : ^that was the very first thing brought up like in september or whenever the hatch was opened]

The reason nobody is talking about this now is because it was first pointed out at least five or ten episodes ago.

yes

b/c of the electromagnet

that's why desmond got stuck there

that's why the plane crashed

that's why the raft using metal pieces of the plane they used last season drifted back to shore

that's why michael is supposed to follow bearing 325 and why he'll never be able to come back to the island

Probably air dropped. Like the other supplies. I mean, if Henry knows the way on and off the island...supply route. But when has Henry been in the hatch in the past few years?

I'll admit I noticed the washer/dryer tonight (first episode I've watched since like ep. #3 or something)

probably because I just dropped $texas buying a set of those front-loaders myself...freakin' nice and LOST just demolished a set I could've had

There's no reason why the washer/dryer couldn't have been halo dropped like the rest of the shit.

^ sorry, i never noticed it, or read about you guys talking about the washer or dryers.

seriously, you think that place was built 15 years ago at the most.

judging by the technology in it....(and that this place was supposed to be state of the art top technology) this place could have been built in the 60's/70's for all we know.

Those TV sets are way older than 1990. Those are like 1970's if not 60's tubes.

So why do the others reside where they do? They gotta have at least one hatch, wouldn't you think? Cause the dharma door sayid opened was a fucking dirt closet.
