I picked up 3 copies of GH3 at the B2G1 sale at TRU this weekend.
Gonna sell 2 of em on eBay, keep the other. Getting paid to buy GH3.... sweet! (for some reason GH3 Wii bundles are going for >MSRP on eBay).
Run, don't walk. The sale ends Wednesday. 11/19/2007 9:52:40 AM |

^^I'm 99% sure that they're gonna milk them individually and then release All-Stars at an inflated price somewhere down the line (maybe 1-2 years). Hell they might even break up the All-Star versions and release them as stand-alone games. 11/19/2007 10:05:50 AM |
FanatiK All American 4248 Posts user info edit post |
well, they've already released them all individually now (have they released Mario World yet?), so 1 year or 2 sounds about right... Wii's 2nd anniversary maybe?
I dont think they will break the game up, they have mostly left all the VC releases intact (for better or worse). I don't think they will charge an inflated price, either. 11/19/2007 12:19:53 PM |

I don't think that they will release allstars anytime soon, much less at 800 points.
and to FanatiK, yes Mario World is out. Been out for a Very long time now.

Quote : | "Ralphie Parker of A Christmas Story, patron saint of toy gun owners, how deep would your passion burn for Nintendo's new Wii Zapper, despite your unyielding mom?
The toy in question is a new accessory for the Wii game console. It's not a controller but a gunlike cradle designed to hold the Wiimote and Wii Nunchuk, increasing players' accuracy in shooting games. The Zapper is white and elegant, all sleek curves and shiny surfaces. It is futuristic in the way that Star Wars is futuristic, a sort of retro-future that will never happen and already has.
The Wii Zapper, with its snub nose and smooth grip, is the prettiest submachine gun ever sold. If that's what it is.
Is it a gun?
"We don't think it even really looks like a gun," says George Harrison, Nintendo's senior vice president of marketing. He offers an alternative concept: "It's a utility that allows for more diverse styles of play."
Certain parents disagree.
In a recent New Jersey Star-Ledger online survey, one grandparent responded to news of Zapper by writing, "Why don't they enclose an application to the NRA in every box as well? . . . The marketing person who came up with this brainchild of an idea should be fired."
Certain kids salivate.
"I think it's going to make it feel like you're actually holding a gun in real life," says Jonathan Moreira, 16, who has been awaiting the Zapper (which went on sale Monday for $19.99) since he saw it advertised at a gaming conference in July. "It'll change everything about FPS" (first-person shooting, for you non-gamers).
Says Damian Crisafulli, 14, who is fluent in Nintendo: "You may only be buying a piece of plastic that reshapes what's already there, but it comes with a free game. Plus, it's a cool tool for game developers to build in, plus you get to shoot zombies in REUC (Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles)."
People who say it promotes violence are, he says, paranoid.
Permissiveness ebbed and flowed
Last month the city of Springfield, Mass., sponsored a toy gun buy-back, offering free ice cream to the 50 children who relinquished squirt guns and fake laser pistols.
The history of objections to toy guns is almost as long as the history of the toy, from Rose Simone, concerned Chicago citizen, who organized toy-gun-burning bonfires in 1934-35, to state senators in New Jersey who are stumping for a statewide ban on selling imitation firearms to those younger than 18.
Toy guns, in the forms of sticks, scraps and the always-reliable thumb-and-forefinger, have been around about as long as the real thing, which debuted in the mid-14th century.
Toy guns, in the form of things you could go out and buy, arrived much later. After the Civil War, weapons factory owners realized that no war meant no profits. Light bulb! Replace the bullets with sound-making caps!
Those guns were loud, but they didn't shoot anything. That joykill was fixed by harnessing pneumatic technology to make air rifles that blasted ball bearings of .18 inches (a size halfway between B and BBB shotgun shot, hence the BB gun). In 1888, the floundering Plymouth Iron Windmill Co. in Michigan decided to include a BB gun as a freebie with every farmer's order, and in two years, Plymouth had shut down windmill production and was making 50,000 Daisy Air Rifles a year.
Most were for adults.
Back and forth, parental permissiveness, parental anxiety. With World II, guns were patriotic again, even in play, but the horrible assassinations and body bags of the '60s changed that. Sears and Bloomingdale's stripped toy guns from their Christmas inventories in 1968.
Dr. Spock reversed his pro-pistol position in 1968, discouraging toy gun play.
In 1983, along came Ralphie in A Christmas Story, pleading for the Red Ryder BB gun of yesteryear." |

So... I don't have a link right now cuz I'm lazy but I just read a news story about a guy who got back from 1 year in Iraq and found a Mii on his Wii created by some dude who had fucked his wife while he was gone.
She was already busted, and had admitted that she kissed the guy 'once', and it was a one time deal yadda yadda. He checked his Wii and saw all the times they had played Wii bowling together. Dude even created a Mii, lolz.
He filed for divorce.

I got a Wii today to give as a present!
I haven't read this thread in a while - but do you know that Nintendo is going to start putting a Wiimote cover in the package? So if you bought one before - you can put your serial in the website and they will send you one? Just a heads up if no one has posted it (though I'm sure someone has somewhere)
Has anyone tried the Wii Sports pack? I haven't seen it before today - but it's extenders for Wii Sports like the tennis racket etc? The Wii version seemed way too big, but the Game Stop version was smaller and didn't seem too cumbersome - but I wonder if it helps at all 11/24/2007 3:05:20 AM |

^yes, we know about the remote covers. also, the attachment things for wiisports aren't necessary, kinda cumbersome, and make it more likely that you'll hit someone/something else. i wouldn't waste your money. 11/24/2007 10:30:31 AM |

so technical question. I just bought an HDTV. it's 720p and I don't have the composite cables yet. I set the wii options to widescreen 16:9 and then set my tv to STRETCH so it fits the whole TV. I put in Legend of Zelda and all three squares look like squares in the set up before you start the game.
Now Mario Galaxy and LoZ when played fit the whole screen. MoH Heroes 2 and RE 4 do not. Theres still a fair amount of black on the sides.
Do only Nintendo games fill the whole screen? wtf?
Do the composite cables make a huge difference? 480i -> 490p.
Do the cables solve the MoH and RE4 problem?
thanks 11/25/2007 4:51:30 PM |

The game is fantastic. In terms of length, it took me about 20 hours to go through all the levels (the same amount of time it took me to finish Metroid Prime 3). More stuff opens up after you beat the game. I haven't done all of that yet, though.11/28/2007 7:28:37 PM |
