Client's wanting impossible things. You should've reported this when it broke not a year later. I can't retroactively push all of this stuff through.

When people pour a cup of coffee and leave like 1/8 of a cup in the pot then put the pot back on the hot burner and leave it. Burning coffee smell

Being told I need to clean up some photography in Photoshop but they don't want to pay for Photoshop. I'm not going to mention GIMP to this person and just hope they forget about this project until after I go on maternity leave

office workers who are 'the keepers of office supplies'.... have a coworker that flips shit when we run out of standard office supplies (TP/paper towels/coffee/hand soap) and nobody notifies him.

^^ Eh, back when I worked a job where I was in charge of maintaining supplies, it was annoying if someone completely wiped out something random like legal pads and didn't give me a head's up. But I also ordered supplies twice a week so it wasn't like we'd go without for very long.

At my current job, the person in charge of ordering is fucking horrible at it. I can't remember the last time we had tape or staples without having to cannibalize them from random places.

We use Windows Live Messenger. On my work computer if I closed the messenger screen it would stay running but disappear from the taskbar. I have looked through all the settings for the version I have on my home computer and can't find anything to make it do that here. And I don't really know what that is called to google it. Halp?

lol windows live messenger, what is this 2006?

get on that skype level. That being said, that option is almost always under appearance or advanced. Typically its under general for nerd software that has a shit ton options windows.

The choices on the Options menu are: Personal, Sign in, Contacts, Messages, History, Notifications, Sounds, Mobile Phone, Privacy and Connection

nothing that even seems like it would secretly be hiding that option

I'd guess its under Personal or notifications, what version is it? I am almost feeling nice enough to install this shit. If you want to get real nerdy just look in the registry for the system tray setting

Version 2011

Personal has your profile and options to show you as away/busy when you are idle.

I forget what Notifications was about exactly. I am updating it now (I thought had updated it when I moved but perhaps not) so it logged me out. I will let you know if the new version is more helpful.

It won't be. Here is what you do:

1) Close out of that shit
2) Find it in the start menu
3) Right click go to properties
4) Go to compatability
5) Set it to windows vista

If you restart it it'll stay in the task menu if you close it

pretty certain that would grounds for me taking the day off with full pay the second I saw someone walk into the office with that. They still haven't invented an allergy medicine that would let me tolerate being in the same room as a cat. After that the person who brought the fucking cat in can pay to have the office cleaned of cat hair. Fucking cats.

Also I work in a 24/7 environment. I have my own cubical, but every once in a while a field service analyst will hang out in our room since their office here is tiny. They'll use my desk or another open desk to answer tickets or whatever. Came back after being off four day to find my mouse was broken. I don't mind that my chair was changed. I don't mind if things in general were moved on my desk. But who would fuck up a persons mouse and not fix it.

I have one co-worker who fails to understand pretty much anything he is ever asked to do.

I keep writing mean/snarky responses to his "I don't get it" emails and then deleting them instead of actually sending them. One of these days ...

this past tuesday i had to leave work early due to illness, but being the responsible teacher i am, i made sure the one class I had left was covered with a very detailed set of notes and self assessment for them to complete afterwards. All the sub had to do was click through a powerpoint, which was already opened with the projector already turned on.

i get back the next morning (migraine still throbbing) and stuck to my meticulous set of sub plans was a note "you HAVE to be joking?"...

...

instead she put on an unrelated video (she had to CLOSE the powerpoint to do this) and told the kids they could talk quietly while it was on

If you don't hire/fire or set their pay then you're a peer. Maybe she'd respect you if you didn't act like you were better than her?

During the biggest project of the year, of which I am responsible for some major components of the project in an area in which I have responsible in, a production manager for the plant asks in front of the VP of production if I were going to a completely unrelated meeting at 7AM the next morning, scheduled during the beginning shift meeting we have for this project in which all the details and plans for the day are communicated.

I told him I had the project meeting to go to, but he pushes me in front of the VP to go. So this morning I go to this meeting instead of the far more important meeting. It lasts 1 fucking hour as another person went over with the operators how to do this new process control chart.

After the meeting the manager asks me, "So how is the project going?" To which I respond, "How the fuck am I supposed to know? You made me attend this meeting this meeting that lasted a fucking hour."

this isn't an annoyance... it's the opposite... i've had less than 12 students in each of my classes today. (early release day, day before break, "school shooting rumor", etc)
