^^it's never worked correctly. it virtually never works if you search by keyword and username at the same time, and it's pretty suspect if you search for three or more keywords at once.

I am talking about a website search not a database search. kinda like how I go to google to search microsoft.com, instead of microsofts search. i can search my websites, i just don't have the robots.txt file.

Its called advertising.....yes i understand a lot of people dont wanna see ads here, but what reason do i have to pay to be harrassed by non-noob users and look at pictures of christinamodel.com? plus how much does a site like this cost a month? with the traffic that comes through here i'm sure that advertising can pay for alot of things that monthly payments by users can't pay for.

BUT I stray....WHY, oh why, does it take so long to fix the search function.

^They ARE doing advertising. They are also donating much of their time to this site that loses them money. If you think more advertising will solve the problem, then why don't you volunteer your time to be an advertising representative to bring in more money for the site.

advertising? they run one banner. I dont know much about online advertising, so i wouldnt make a very good ad rep. But print (newspaper, magazines, etc.) requires 30-40% advertising to break even, that means that 30-40 percent of the pages are advertising. I'd imagine to make money, one banner is insufficient.

An Ad rep would help, all someone has to do is devote 10 hours a week to bring bussiness to the sight, take a 10 percent commission and both the parties would make some pretty pocket change. Having a link at the top of the page doesnt seem a sufficient way to promote advertising, seeing as most people looking for advertising here dont visit the site, or even know about it. you need someone to outreach to bussiness to advertise and make money.

Now that i have succesfully made an ass of myself to the rest of TWW and the moderators (wonder why i dont pay?) i withdrawl my question as to why the search function doesnt work because its apparent that no one is fixing it.

1. realtime 3D ncaa football. i think it'd be cool to play other tdubbers through tww
2. some kind of advanced mathematics package. like maple or matlab or something. but better than that
3. maybe like an area to upload mp3s and DVD rips to share with other tdubbers
4. everybody gets a tww email address, with an online mail system. and add like a calendar application to that like outlook. but as part of tww ya know
