Well, it wasn't quite as good as I was expecting from Ferrell. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good movie. But it seemed uneven at times, and the plot was pretty lame at points. I'd still give it 2.5 stars.

I'd agree. I thought it was decent, but overall I think the hype had led me to believe it would be funnier. Steve Carell, though, did a great job with his character, and the cameos were hilarious.

the movie was surprisingly good.

the other great thing was that nothing but maybe the first 10 min were in the preview.

the only part that was kinda meh was the end. it was funny, but it didn't quite fit in with the style of humor in the rest of the movie imho.

there were actually a few things in the trailers that weren't in the movie... like the "let's make a baby!" and the "i like that fanny!" parts.

I thought it had no plot at all and half the shit wasn't funny at all. the jack black part was the best scene by far. both this and dodgeball have really let me down. I'd give both movies about a B-/C+ at best.

jack black's cameo was actually far unfunnier than it should have been, considering how funny he can be. all the other cameos, though, were absolutely hilarious.

props to the jazz flute scene, i totally lost it when he jumped onto the tables.
