aka, drip coffee? i won't pretend to be an aficionado, but it always seemed to me that watering down espresso was essentially the same as strong drip

i think he just means the product that Starbucks offers called an Americano which yes is essentially just drip coffee imo

[Edited on September 27, 2011 at 11:32 AM. Reason : brand precision]

personally, i do tend to order americanos vs regular brew when i get starbucks though

[Edited on September 27, 2011 at 11:33 AM. Reason : there is a difference, but not much imo]

Starbucks has a new salted caramel mocha drink

I'm sure its good if you get it as a hot drink but as an iced drink, the caramel doesn't mix/melt well. They need to add the caramel and chocolate to the bottom of the cup before adding the espresso so that the espresso will melt some of the caramel on the bottom

Sometimes I miss working in coffee shops

this is good stuff and i got in on the deal, now i have three giant bricks of good coffee. i think what's best about this is the low bitterness, it's just smooth. it is indeed very fine ground, it even kind of clogs my paper filters

as vince said about shamwow, "you know the germans make great stuff"

Essentially the same, but it's fresh because the shot is pulled then AND it's stronger than typical drip coffee.

So I have been reduced to drinking decaf because of migraines and being pregnant. I was wondering am I REALLY drinking coffee if it has no caffeine in it?

Really just bumping this thread to rival quagmire02's thread but legit question, none the less.

^ YOU SUCK.

i'm asking for the REI vacuum infuser mug for my birthday or christmas...i need something thin enough to fit in my scooter's cup holder and the "bullet" vacuum mugs i already have all have that pop-top that is a huge pain to clean (and they're cheap chinese crap anyway, so they don't keep things super hot for more than an hour or so)

this one has rave reviews for keeping things hot or cold for extended periods of time, and i think it's kind of neat to have the built-in filter for brewing coffee directly in the mug or for tea

There are still traces of caffeine in decaffeinated coffee.

I knew about the trace amount but my neurologist said decaf is ok. So I guess it is still coffee because of the trace amounts and also that it comes from a coffee bean.

punchmonk you're better off just cutting out caffeine entirely out while pregnant.

Most clinical research out there suggests that the teratogenicity of caffeine is weak or does not present any risk. However, caffeine has been observed to synergistically potentiate the risk of congenital malformations from other substances, e.g. tobacco, alcohol.

Drinking some Panama roasted by Cup a Joe. Black. Delish.

Also, I was skeptical of this press mug when I got it as a gift but it's the best thing ever for work.
http://www.rei.com/product/792857/rei-double-shot-press-mug

It has a little storage cup on the bottom for more coffee/looseleaf tea/whatevs. I mostly use a press anyway and the portability is great.

Try some of this.

I guarantee most of you will love this one. It comes in tube like packets which has coffee, cream, and sugar. Just put like 2 of em with hot water and you're set. I gave a couple to my coffee loving friend and he said that this is the best coffee hes ever tasted. Oh you can only find it korean grocery stores but well worth the hassle.

I was talking with someone this morning who has never had a full cup of coffee. That blew my mind a little bit. It's so delicious.

Anyone like coffee with chicory? Fareako has been insisting I should try some.

^ Lots of people don't like coffee. It took me a little while to...wait for it....WARM UP TO IT!!

srsly though...I hated the taste of coffee at first. I had to use a ton of cream and sugar at first and slowly tapered that off. I still use a little splenda and a little cream, but I do enjoy the taste of coffee...but not enough to have it straight black.

I didn't start liking it until I worked in coffee shops. I was also grossed out by the sheer number of calories people would add to their coffee. We had one chick that would get a small white mocha with 12 sugars in it. By the time you put espresso, white chocolate, all the sugar, and whipped cream in there you had maybe 2oz leftover for milk

I didn't start liking it until after college when they offered it for free at my job (it was high quality stuff too) ... since then I've been hooked.

I never like it before college....but I had only tried it a few times. Once I got to college I gradually started drinking it...at first with a little cream and then transitioned to drinking it black. I've never liked sugar in my coffee...that's just too sweet for me.

I really don't get people that habitually add cream/sugar to coffee. Once in a while by the fireside, sure why not...but as a matter of course?

And that's not an elitist thing, it's just so damn good on its own

And for real, if you haven't tried Cafe Bustelo, do so next time you pick some up. Some of the best coffee I've had in a long time, and I usually grind my beans fresh. I think Food Lion has it, oddly enough, because they actually have a dedicated Latin foods section

Anybody else enjoy it when their piss smells like coffee??

Like when you take your first piss after downing a couple cups of coffee. You're like..."yep...that's what productivity smells like."

Maybe it's just me...

I don't drink a lot of coffee except on the weekends. But this time of year my wife and I drink iced coffee every morning on the weekends.

I used to always drink coffee or a soda in the morning at work but I've cut both of those out at work and really did not notice a difference after the first week as far as caffeine goes.

I'm crushing some coffee this week. Pull a late night last night and will have to do the same tonight and tomorrow night. That means couple cups in the morning, couple during the day, and another one around 8 or 9 pm.

Yum.....

I have a special indulgence from California called Black Blood of the Earth.

It's pretty much fucking amazing. If you like cold brew concentrate, this stuff is like the fucking superman of cold brew. 40x the caffeine of coffee (will knock you on your ass).
