Dude, you should have seen that coming as soon as they announced it. Aeris wasn't originally meant to stay dead in the first place, but they were rushed so fast they cut out the end parts of the game. People who cracked dialogue with the gameshark found bits of script by Aeris, and one scene where you can see Aeris's model where she had been previously removed.

This will be badass.

not sure where, I would assume select movie theatres since Final Fantasy: Spirits Within actually appeared in theatres

I read in EGM that it's getting a limited theatrical release right before it's released on DVD.

Hopefully somewhere around here. They also said that the actual game sequel is supposed to be out at the end of the year. I didn't even know that was still being planned. I thought they nixed the idea a while ago. The game is supposed to feature Vincent... and Cait Sith. wtf? I guess Reeve is just some pussy who can't fight.

I don't precede The Spirits Within with Final Fantasy. If you can manage to do that and ignore the association it goes from being a suck fantasy adaptaion to a decent but overly ambitious scifi movie
