i'm starting to think these games are scripted

cause they seem to keep repeating themselves over and over like a play

me (3:38:45 PM): well, we know how the rest of this game plays out
me (3:38:53 PM): 3-2 twins
Officer Cat (3:38:54 PM): extra innings
Officer Cat (3:39:07 PM): i refuse to believe that the o's are going to lose this series

Quote :
"ESPN's Peter Gammons reports that talks between the Marlins and Orioles for pitcher A.J. Burnett heated up Friday afternoon.

According to a source, if the Orioles can move pitcher Sidney Ponson -- rumored to go through Texas, possibly to Tampa Bay -- Baltimore can use the money saved to make third baseman Mike Lowell's contract work.

Lowell, who is batting a disappointing .230 with just four homers and 39 RBI, is owed about $21 million through 2007.

The Marlins think a trade could happen Friday night, although it's not clear whether or not the Orioles will ask for a window to try to sign Burnett.

The 28-year-old Burnett, who can become a free agent after the season, is 6-6 with a 3.68 ERA.
"

so now we're giving up ponson just to make room for lowell.. i don't see this as being worth it anymore

not that i like ponson that much, but now we're giving up 5 players for one pitcher and a very expensive and crappy 3rd baseman

wtf? we NEED a pitcher. wtf does getting rid of a pretty good one do in order to get another not so good pitcher do to help that? god DAMN the management is dumb as fuck

they're considering moving ponson down to long reliever to make room for Burnett in the rotation, since ponson isn't doing all that great this year.. very inconsistent. Of course, this new story about Ponson going to florida through texas means we get something out of texas.. maybe another good bat??

now we're trading ponson for phil nevin...this still doesn't solve our pitching problems

i think ponson would be great in a reliever role.. i doubt he'd be very happy there, but he hasn't earned the right to complain this year.

i think the whole thing is going to be a mess for the o's.. i doubt we're going to get burnett

burnett deal is off.. they say he's gonna test the free-agent market in the off season..

the ponson-nevin deal with help the pitching by getting rid of the worst pitchers in the rotation. He is the AL leader in hits allowed, has one of the highest ERAs..

Nevin has been injured a lot, but is a powerhouse.. he'll be a great right-handed bat that we need since Sosa can't hit the broadside of a barn. Whether he waives his no-trade clause to the Orioles, is the question.. It'll also open up a lot of money with ponson leaving.. maybe they can deal another trade by the deadline, or work on a prospect..

honestly, i dont like our chances for the postseason now

shaky confidence, no big trades to get us over the hump, and a team thats sorta stagnant in the field right now.

eesh.

GG Raffy for going 0-5, my Astros fantasy team hates you for the night.

BTW, 3-run HR gives Texas the lead.

alright...so we're up 4-2 after big doubles by roberts and the new oriole byrnes

on a side note...i don't see anywhere that cabrera was injured and he was taken out after 1.2 innings giving up 1 earned run and 3 strikeouts...i think a trade might have just gone through that isn't public yet. that's pretty early to take out your starter unless he is pitching horrible, injured or told to pack his bags...

this is completely speculation by me, but it just seems shady

Yankees got some help from the umps today though. Sheff struck out on three separate pitches in his at-bat in the 9th and the umps didn't ring him up. That would've been a HUGE out instead of the walk he supposedly drew.

Homer: "Yeah, Moe, that team sure did suck last night. They just plain sucked! I've seen teams suck before, but they were the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked."
Marge: "Homer, watch your mouth!"
Homer: "Uh, I gotta go - my damn wiener kids are listening..."
