For long discussions I've wanted to sit down and study, I've always wanted some type of "printable view" of the thread that just includes the username and their message, which cuts down on the amount of paper needed to print a thread. Perhaps you could work on some way of creating a printer-friendly thread without a viewer needing to print each page.

when my grandpa got a computer he would print out everything so he didn't lose it when he turned it off, then he would use a typewriter to write instructions on how to use programs.

Articles like this one usually interest me and I like to just carefully read over things. Printing out articles is more for during the semester when I'm on the go.

Reading is not the only thing I'll be doing with some of these topics. For the rare interesting ones that have involved discussions for several pages at a time, I'd like to just have a neat, printable version. Didn't think I'd get criticism for this idea; I'm just putting it out there for a rainy day, for the very creative and helpful people who design and run TWW.

It's not a bad idea in theory.

But in reality, it's pointless.

Anything you might learn from these threads would be much better learned somewhere else.

And I find it interesting that you selected a parody thread as your example.
