There have been a few threads lately about adding some things to TWW (dynamic chatterbox, inbox search, more emoicons, etc). Im wondering how many people would actually volunteer to help whoever with these (if they'd want to do it, and trust volunteers to do it )... maybe if see the volume of people willing to help TWW for minimal cost, they'd be more open to it.

also, i doubt they'd want people to help, but I hope if they see how many people are willing, they might actually get someone to do some of it

I doubt you'll find many people willing to invest such time and effort for the profit of the owners of the site without some compensation.

Nah...because even if people add features, they'd still need to be maintained. And there'd need to be some kind of open source/SourceForge type thing for collaborating, and probably someone to accept/reject "features" that make TWW unstable (like the current search feature that can bring it down), and so on.

It's probably not worth it, especially if people get feature-happy. See: early Mozilla for details.

i dont think most of the requests are feature happy - maybe the dynamic chatterbox (my dream )... but another emoticon, a inbox search, or photo caption altering isnt too extravigant given that the feature for the most part already exists

even if they just found 1 person to work on a feature at a time... something

my favorite part of this site was when they did a mass ad campaign across campus and everyone volunteered to help make jake more money - that takes skill
