well let's just hope MS doesn't acquire any more spyware companies, or get paid off by any virus writers to ignore their programs, a la Claria

Hmm, I'll try it out. I hope it's not harder to work with than zonealarm. I do like symantic a.v and, I have no idea how microsoft will be a better viral protection system than them.

Just got my acceptance email for the program... installing now, but it's taking forever... must be a serious hit on their servers currently.

None as of yet that I can tell... Thinking about going for a virus here in a minute on purpose to see how well it handles it...

EDIT: Hehehe, first thing I could think of was to download Sub7 and try to run it. I didn't even get the chance to break it out of the zip file before OneCare started losing it's mind. So far, so good...

Well, we've taken our first casualties here, being beta software at all. I had a couple of DVD images that had every version of Windows from 1.0 to server 2003 on my hard drive, and when OneCare did it's virus scan, it flagged the 2nd disc into quarantine due to some kind of Anti-CMOS util on the disc. It crapped on me when trying to restore the file from quarantine (from the looks of the output file, probably because it was bigger than 2gbs). Good thing I just burned a copy of that ISO within 24 hours, cause the one on my hard drive is fubarred now.

Dude

I'd be so thankful to you if I could get my hands on Windows 1.0 through 3.3

How do you install it?

I just got an email but it says that they'd mail me a CD with the product code...and when I log into beta.microsoft.com I don't see a download link. I just see like 4-5 surveys.

You cannot download it (as an EXE anyway). It gets installed via an activex control a lot like windows update.

Backup dont work for me.

I tried to backup 1.1gb of data. I have 44 gigs free on my primary drive and it complained about not having enough space.
