So what did you think of the Dragon? I absolutely love it, I'm close enough for day trips down there too since I'm in Johnson City, TN now. When you get a good run without too many vehicles in front, I think it's even better than an Autocross. Of course, sometimes those damn slow sport bikes get in my way... (waits for the flame posts)

That was the 8's third trip in a year, my fourth in two.

Its definitely a 35 mph roller coaster. I had worn out RE040s last time I went, and it was fun. Skyway is good very fast fun if you have a fuzzbuster. There are some twisty roads from Vonore going to the Skyway (couterclockwise on the loop).

/\ Nothing beats the Ring (wifey didnt puke on that one). That little 318i had balls.

yeah, the Dragon isn't really where a sportbike shines. sportbikes are awesome in a straight line from 30-150 or so (or more, if it's a liter classer), and they have decent (although not spectacular) ultimate grip, but they suck in transition, which is all the Dragon is. furthermore, it's so tight that you can almost never exploit the bike's power to weight ratio. i could EASILY count on one hand the number of times i applied WOT on my GSX-R 750 when i went, and i only broke 100 mph maybe twice.

furthermore, riding a sportbike to the limit, particularly on a road like the Dragon, is WAY harder than pushing a car hard. i'm not surprised at all that sportbikes got in your way (although i ran all over some cars when i was there, too).

^ I'm afraid of the dragon if I go there on a bike.

besides, I don't want the humiliation of being passed by a transit van

^Luckily for you JBaz, there isn't much of a deer population. Unfortunately, there's still plenty to kill you there (last weekend I was there, two bikers died). Judging by your talent for disaster, I think you should avoid it like the plague
