anybody know much abou these and if so, could you diagnose and fix mine for like 20-30 bucks?

here's the story:

bought a 19" magnaovox tv 9 moths ago at best buy, the high voltage power supply shitted out on me a couple weeks ago, so i call best buy, and they give me the number for magnavox and say it has a 1 year warranty. i called magnavox, and got the local dealer which is consumer electronics in cary. apparently, only parts are covered by the warrenty, so i didnt really mind that, how long will it take to swap out a power supply? not long i thought. i already paid them $15 to take it in and diagnose what i told them was wrong with it in the first place. then i find out that magnavox only pays for the resistor or whatever has gone wrong in the power supply, a $.30 part. then i have to pay for all the labor diagnosing and repairing it, since they wouldnt send the entire thing. its all a big scam. so basically i either have to pay like $100 to get it fixed or spend $150 on a new tv.

anybody think they could help?

Just open the thing up...take pictures of all the parts...post em here...and we can probably help you that way. It should be plug and play. Just make sure the TV hasn't powered up in a long time and for god sakes do it with some gloves on.

just trash the thing first off it's a magnavox so it's not really worth saving second it's only 19" so it's not really worth saving. i say just go to betbuy/circuitcity/walmart and get their cheapest 19" tv and save time( i work at ccity and i'll tell u magnavoxes come back more than apex, jensen and esa combined),$ and maybe ur life.

the point is, i'm not gonna pick up a new tv for my bedroom for like 20 bucks, and there is nothing major wrong with this one, i wish i could find another decent sanyo, i've had my 26" for 11 years and its been through 7 moves and still works great

wal-mart still sells sanyo.

i've had my 25" for as long as you have and you're right, they are durable.
