Indeed. In high school, I would have dominated college jeopardy. Nowadays, I don't remember all that trivia shit.

I used to watch the news all the time and pick up on a lot of dumb trivia. Now that I'm not forced to get up at 7:00 everyday, I am really lapsing. 7/28/2005 11:36:48 PM |

i'm guessing that the last College Jeopardy contest NCSU had was David Honea, back in the late-80's, early-90's - he ended up runner up. He was also an All-ACC and All-American XC runner at State, and was named as one of 13 NCSU runners for the "ACC 50th Anniversay XC team" - http://gopack.collegesports.com/sports/m-xc/spec-rel/073002aab.html
Also, you might remember, he was on Who Wants to be a Millionaire in 1999, on the 4th show ever. He was the one who answered a question about the great lakes correctly but they told him it was wrong, and he had to come back a couple weeks later for another show and ended up with $125k (but didn't even throw us a party with it ) http://www.gettingit.com/article/715 http://abc.go.com/primetime/millionaire/showhighlights/players/125k_winners.html 7/29/2005 2:14:40 AM |

^^so how does a quiz show stay credible when they don't even know the correct answers to their own questions?? 7/29/2005 2:32:25 AM |
agentlion All American 13936 Posts user info edit post |
^^ yeah, i beleive he went to Enka HS? ^ i dunno - how credible was "Millionaire" anyways? I don't think they ever had the illusion they were taking on Jeopardy as far as coming the de-facto standard quiz show. Most of the people on Millionaire were just "normal people". you'll notice that for the most part, Millionaire tested random trivia, while Jeopardy (who does their fair share of random trivia, for sure) is much more academic.
they (the show, that is), kind of played it off as a big joke anyways - http://www.gettingit.com/article/715

i heard the jeopardy people were out to see the rbc and really liked the outside of the murphy center at carter finley. I think they are going to try and make the stage similar, could be cool. 7/29/2005 9:40:46 AM |
