it probably wouldn't pass emissions with the test pipe in it, but it passed last time i had it inspected just by putting my 3" cat in there. if that didn't work, you could always lean it out a lot.

^^because i spent all my time fixing little stupid stuff on it for the first couple of months i owned it (nothing bad...i think replacing a starter was the worst thing...i spent maybe $350 altogether, but it took a lot of time).

after that, i spent 6.5 months at a pretty rigorous school for the Marines where i was living in the barracks with no tools or convenient place to work on it, and trained 60-80 hours/week for the first 5 months or so of the school (not even counting the days and weeks spent in the field).

by the time i got time to play with it, i bought my S2000 and decided to sell the miata (and the jeep). throw in moves from raleigh to quantico, and quantico to pensacola, and i just haven't gotten around to it.

it's running really, really rich. it might just be a matter of spending some dyno time...it might be a matter of putting a fuel pressure regulator on it...it might be a matter of tracking down an ailing or failed sensor of some sort (maybe needs a new wideband O2). i don't know...it's a fun little car as is, and i just haven't had time to mess with it.


oh, and we're up to $2025 with 8 bids and about 6 days left to go. had a dude call me from orlando today; he wants to come check it out on friday morning.

i've gotten 28 on the interstate, going 80-90 mph.

don't let it spool up, and it gets the gas mileage you'd expect from a 1.6L, 2200 lb car.

if you beat on it, i think it gets around 20 or so, maybe even a little less if you really drive the shit out of it. i don't really know.
