The laptop will boot with win2k but runs very very slow 20-30 minutes boot time, scandisk takes forever. Dell determines that harddisk is bad. Plug drive into external drive and it comes up with 37GB free on a 37GB drive. I don't think the freezer trick will work on this one. Any suggestions? 8/4/2005 1:30:41 PM |

someone needs to confirm this, but if it's Win2000 can't you boot into DOS and then transfer files over to disk?
Are you trying to get teh drive to work again or just retrieve data? 8/4/2005 1:39:36 PM |

Tried to access through the network as well as my computer and it says drive not readable after running check disk from safemode the computer will no longer boot, and now gets BSOD. Looks more and more like she's a goner. Of that 37GB from my inital post was from disk manager
Only 3 days of data loss isn't all that bad. 8/4/2005 1:51:22 PM |
