Any clue how to do so? I know the port number for smtp or whatever its called is 25 but I dont know what type webmail is and I also do not remember the program that will allow me to connect to ncsu.edu on a comp not connect to the network....help please. thanks

Webmail is on an IMAP server. I believe you can telnet to access a POP server. However I doubt it will work with webmail.

I've been able to access webmail from Mulberry, Outlook and Thunderbird. If you need help, just PM me.

telnet is insecure and has long been disabled. you want putty. the app you want (took me a year to discover) is pine.
