Today is my 7 year anniversary at Cisco. I started here as a co-op when I was 19, back in 1998, when you could get a job in networking if you could spell TCP/IP. And somehow they haven't fired me yet.

For those of y'all with full-time jobs, how long have you been working?

almost 2 1/2 years at EMC...

spent a year at IBM...

and of course, my tenure at NCSU is getting quite large. I'm pretty sure this will be my 14th semester at State...

Exactly 3 weeks until I hit the 1 year mark at my current job. Before that, 10 months. Before that, 13 months. I had 2 internships in college that were about a year long.

I don't hang around places much more than a year. I'm working on starting a business so I can do my own thing instead of perpetuating this trend of job hopping every year or so.

it's will be 2 years at Digital Recorders, the company I'm with now, in October. I was a contractor for a year before that so I've been here for almost three years.

Full-time at my current position at NCSU? Shade over a month.
Full-time at NCSU overall? 1.5 years as an actuall full-time employee. 2 years before that as a "part-time full-timer", i.e. worked 40 hrs/week but no benefits or paid leave.

7 months at my current but openly looking. I've gotta get out of Kansas City. I have no idea what I was thinking when they said "yeah, come out to kansas city, it's a great place."

Ya live and ya learn.

I've been working 20-40 hours a week since winter 2001 in the same building, but I get bored after a year or two and move on to the another unit.
