Ok so not even 30 mins ago I was playing Battlefield 2 fine on my computer and then out of the blue it just resets by itself. It showed the opening logo and everything, but then it just froze on bootup. I turned the computer off manually and waited a minute, then turned it back on. Once again, it showed the opening logos then said that it didn't shut down properly last time and gave me the option of starting Windows in safe mode. I selected this option and it started listing the bootup files. It got to the following file:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\Windows\System32\Drivers\agpCPQ.sys
then displayed "loading d347bus.sys" underneath the boot files. "loading d347bus.sys" disappeared and the ...\agpCPQ.sys file remained at the bottom of the bootup files. From there on, nothing happens. After turning it off for a few more minutes and trying again, it did the same thing. I am able to load the BIOS, bootup options, and recovery settings before it actually starts to boot Windows. Any ideas as to what I can do to fix this? I ran a virus scan a few days ago with Symantec Viruscan and it found nothing. The computer is also very young; I bought it a little over a week ago to replace my old computer which crapped out on me.
V Actually it is an emachines (yeah yeah, flame on, I was just looking for something to replace my old computer until I graduate). The video card installed on it is a Radeon X700 and last time I checked the drivers were up to date. If I download any new drivers, how will I be able to install them on my new computer if it won't even boot windows? Would it help if I physically took the X700 card out of the computer?
