There's a deal going on for like a $599 MX30 or something like that. Anyway, should I get that or save up and hold out for say Mac G5?

you probably should decide whether you want a mac or if you want a windows based machine before you even think about brands

that being said, i've been using this toshiba laptop for a few months now, it was only like $900 and is pretty damn nice, 15.4" glossy screen (bright view or somethin) and is fast enough for me most of the time, so, yea, toshiba's are as good as most
